All of whom are in the process of putting on a brand new musical called "Pretty Lady" starring Dorothy Brock, played by Shelby Osborne & Billy Lawlor, played by Alec Niven.
The focus moves to an aspiring chorus girl, Peggy Sawyer, played by Courtney Reese, and takes us along her journey. Musical hits include You're Getting to Be a Habit with Me, Dames, I Know Now, We're In the Money, Lullaby of Broadway, Shuffle Off to Buffalo and Forty-Second Street.
The show requires a high level preparation with regard to the dancing skills. Show choreographer Marcia Sarosik stated “In all my years of producing shows this is the most intense level I’ve seen with the students working very hard on their dances.” Bob Grant is the Musical Director, Casson Scowcroft is the Orchestra Conductor, and Drake Niven is the Technical Director.
Indeed the show includes a bevy of energetic chorus dancers and singers led by Dillon Daggs, Jessica Robberson, Lindsey Weik, and Riley Chapman and includes lively tap dances and production numbers. Rounding out the play is Mac by Emery Mulligan, Pat Denning by Preston Quick and Abner Dillon by Keanu Rodriguez-Valencia.
The Performing Arts Booster Association (PABA) will host a special fundraising event ‘Stars Night Out’ with an exclusive showing Friday, December 16. The event starts at 5:30 p.m. and will be catered by STHS Culinary Arts with appetizers, drinks, silent auction and entertainment in the Tahoe Arts and Design Academy Lobby.
