Lake Tahoe Unified School District
Both concerts scheduled for this week have been canceled.
All upcoming kindergarten tours have been canceled.
Contact individual schools for on-site meetings.
All high school athletic games and meets have been canceled until further notice.
Pink Heavenly event canceled to limit chance of spread of coronavirus COVID-19

Originally planned for March 21, 2020, organizers with the Barton Foundation canceled the event to "protect community members, employees and care providers in the spread of novel coronavirus COVID-19."

SOUTH LAKE TAHOE, Calif. - The community is invited to support the Leadership Lake Tahoe Class of 2020 at the Pints for a Cause Fundraiser on March 13 from 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. at South Lake Brewing Company. Leadership participants will be pouring beers at South Lake Brewing Company to raise money and awareness for their collective class project.

Often these young people are some of our community’s most vulnerable and underserved. They are at a time in their lives when they need our “village” to be there for them without judgment, with kindness and compassion, and with the resources to be able to provide them the tools to be able to forge the future successfully.

Local woodturner donates piece for Soroptimist charity auction
Submitted by paula on Tue, 04/09/2019 - 10:49amSouth Lake Tahoe artist Malcolm Tibbetts has once again donated one of his famous woodturning creations to the Soroptimist International of Tahoe Sierra (SITS) Elegant Evening fundraising event on Saturday, April 13, 2019.
Bids on "Ovals in the Woods" are accepted online and bidders do not have to attend the event to participate.
Tibbetts left the Heavenly management team in 2002 to start a new career that would work within his longtime love of woodworking. He is now a full-time studio artist designing, engineering and creating amazing works of art in segmented woodturning.

South Lake Tahoe police officers will be part of the waitstaff at Applebee's on Friday, March 29 from 5:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. to raise money for Special Olympics Northern California.
One-hundred percent of the tips the "celebrity waiters" earn will be donated directly to Special Olympics Northern California, which provides year-round sports training and competition for children and adults with intellectual disabilities.

The very popular Monsignor Wallace Classy Crab Dinner will be held at St. Theresa Church's Grace Hall in South Lake Tahoe on Saturday, February 3, 2018 from 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. For 24 years church volunteers have been putting on the fundraising event, always a "must do" on many calendars.
Starting at 6:00 p.m., attendees will not only get a crab dinner but also be treated to a silent auction, raffle, and the "famous and lively" dessert auction at 7:45 p.m.
"Angel of Tahoe" Lisa Maloff celebrates Christmas with local youth
Submitted by paula on Thu, 12/21/2017 - 9:37amChristmas was made very special for 100 South Lake Tahoe children on Saturday, December 16, 2017 when philanthropist Lisa Maloff joined Tahoe Youth and Family Services (TYFS) in ringing in the holidays with a special celebration that won’t soon be forgotten.
Earlier this month, Mrs. Maloff made a generous donation of $75,000 to the agency that serves the youth and families South Lake Tahoe, Douglas County and Alpine County. Mrs. Maloff asked TYFS to hold a very special Christmas party so she could spread some holiday cheer and create magical memories for our local children.

This year the Sierra States Parks Foundations have come on board to help with the popular event that provides not only pancakes but also the famous Meeks Bay Fire jumbo sausages, applesauce, milk, coffee, orange juice, and plenty of butter and maple syrup to make the meal complete!

This event is co-sponsored by Southern Wine and Spirits and Edgewood Tahoe and always follows the beverage company's annual sales event at the South Shore golf course. The Woz partners with Hard Rock to raise money for local schools

It was on one of their frequent trips to the Hard Rock Cafe inside Harvey's Lake Tahoe that they met Kimberly Templeton, Lake Tahoe Sales Manager for the chain and a friendship formed.
Wozniak, co-found of Apple Computer, and his wife Janet were in town Wednesday night to help raise funds for Lake Tahoe Unified School District (LTUSD).
Fun, wine and art part of Soroptimist fundraising event

Each month owners Jill and Frank Slipher provide a unique fundraising experience for a different non-profit to host a "FUNdraising" evening. They donate half of the $40/person fee back to the designated non-profit!

The Heavenly Ski and Snowboard Foundation will host the 24th Annual Ski and Snowboard Swap at MontBleu Resort Casino & Spa on Saturday Nov. 17.
Proceeds will benefit the Foundation, a non-profit organization that provides skiing and snowboarding programs and events for regional youth and local middle school and high school students. The swap runs Saturday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Admission is free.

Musical '42nd Street' to Take Stage at Lake Tahoe's Newest Stage
