Santa Run on Ski Run in South Lake Tahoe to raise funds for SOS Outreach

SOUTH LAKE TAHOE, Calif. - Get your holiday spirit on (along with your running shoes or snowboots) for the first ever Santa Fun Run on Ski Run on Saturday, December 15, 2018.

Come dressed in your best and most festive Kris Kringle outfit and join in the winter fun, all for a good cause. All proceeds will benefit the local non-profit, SOS Outreach.

Pre-Run: At 3:00 p.m., meet at Blue Angel Cafe for check in or late registration. It is $35 plus service charge of $2.74if you pre-register on Eventbrite, or $40 if you register on the day-of. Enjoy hot spiced drinks and holiday eats before the run begins at 3:30 p.m.

The procession will begin at 3:30 p.m, complete with police escort and support wagon.

Post-Run: Once participants run up Ski Run Blvd and make it to Himmel Haus, they will be greeted with a warm fire, free sausage and libation. Once everyone arrives to Himmel Haus, there will be a raffle with the chance to win some awesome prizes.

There will be a free shuttle at 5:30 p.m. to bring Santas and gatherers back to the start.

SOS Outreach helps kids gear up for life. Grounded in outdoor experiences, the program ignites a passion for adventure, inspires the courage to try something new, and instills lifelong lessons and skills in our kids. By not only teaching kids to snowboard, ski, hike, climb and camp, but also teaching them leadership skills, values, a sense of purpose and strengths through long-term positive adult metorship, SOS sets them up for success, and to contribute the world beyond themselves.

Founded in partnership with Vail Resorts, SOS has transformed the lives of over 50,000 underserved youth since 1993. Serving nearly 5,000 youth each year, across 15 locations in 9 states, including at Heavenly, Kirkwood and Northstar, SOS provides opportunities for personal growth for the kids in our communities who need it most.
