Felons arrested for shooting guns in Meyers

Four visitors to the South Shore were arrested by El Dorado County Sheriff's deputies on Friday night after they were caught shooting firearms on U.S. Forest Service land behind Tahoe Paradise Golf Course in Meyers.

On December 16, deputies responded to a call of shooting about 100 yards from the end of Lost Lane. Upon arrival they found four men, Alexander, Keoseng, Johlany and Yao Saechao with guns. Alexander and Keoseng are convicted felons from Stockton, Calif., and are prohibited from possessing firearms. All four were arrested and booked into the El Dorado County Jail.

Keoseng Saechao, 35, is the only one still in jail as of Monday evening. His bail was set at $122,312 for conspiracy to commit a crime, possessing the firearm as a felon, driving on a suspended license and bail enchancement due to priors.

Alexander Saechao, 32, was charged with three felonies: conspiracy to commit a crime, possessing the firearm as a felon, possession of firearm with prior violations, and a bail enhancement due to priors. His bail was $100,000.

The other two suspects, Yao Chow Saechao, 30, and Johlnay Saechao, 24, had bail set at $50,000 for knowingly allowing the felons to possess and discharge the firearms. They were charged with two felonies each, possessing the firearm as a felon and conspiracy.

Not only is shooting a firearm a violation of the Lake Valley Firearm ordinance, this is an unsafe area to shoot due to numerous trails, hikers, homes and pets.
