Local children treated to gifts and banquet by Tahoe Douglas Rotary

The Tahoe Douglas Rotary Club recently held their annual Children's Christmas party and traditional turkey dinner at the Lake Tahoe Resort Hotel. On the guest list were families from both Live Violence Free and Sierra Child and Family Services. Thirty families and 80 children enjoyed an afternoon of food, entertainment, a visit from Santa and gifts.
Annually, the Lake Tahoe Vacation Resort donates the room for this event. Firefighters who attended were a big hit with the children as was the traditional visit from the elves at Sealed With a Kiss, Santa with gifts donated by the Rotary Club, a photo booth donated by Randy and Theresa Daggs of Dyna-Mic-Duo, Whittel High Student and DJ Chris Evans and dancers from Forever Dance Studio.
Not only did the children from foster families and Live Violence Free receive gifts, but their mothers were able to shop for free at a shop set up by local retailer Sealed With a Kiss.
Rotarians Jenny Buscher and Jana Walker Spano coordinated the event with help from members and their families who shopped, wrapped, set up, cleaned up, acted as elves and many other jobs.
