Join the South Tahoe High Lady Vikings on Wednesday, November 4 between 3:00 p.m. and 10:00 p.m. at Grand Central Pizza in South Lake Tahoe.
Fifteen percent of all sales during that time will go to the Goal Club, the team's nonprofit that helps with the program's team expenses.
Pizza With A Purpose will be at Grand Central, 2229 Lake Tahoe Blvd. The donations will be made on dine in, take out and delivery. Their phone number is 530.544.1308

On Campus
Midterms are Thursday and Friday next week. Study labs are held after school for support and tutoring in different courses before the tests. Midterms mark the halfway point for the first term of the 2019-2020 year. The stress begins to increase, especially for the seniors.

The Homecoming Parade is slated for October 12. Students plan on walking from T.J. Maxx to the high school to celebrate homecoming traditions. Ms. Russel’s leadership classes expect a big crowd and a fun day before the homecoming dance that evening.
STHS girls soccer team meets Truckee in state championship; Volleyball state run ends

The second half was a different story and they couldn't score. Truckee wins State with their 4-3. South Tahoe is second best in state...a great reward for your year-long efforts Vikings and we can't wait for next year!

South Tahoe High girls soccer team headed to state playoffs
Submitted by paula on Tue, 11/06/2018 - 9:38amSOUTH LAKE TAHOE, Calif. - The South Tahoe High girls varsity soccer team took care of their opponents all season long and look for more of the same this weekend as they head to the 2018 NIAA 3A State Girls Soccer playoffs.
Sporting an overall 23-2 record and a league record of 17-1, the Vikings beat Truckee 2-1 Saturday in the 3A Northern Championship to take their #1 seed from the north down to Las Vegas.
South Lake Tahoe soccer team hosts German team
Submitted by Anonymous on Sat, 07/08/2017 - 11:47amSOUTH LAKE TAHOE, Calif. - The Tahoe Madrid girls soccer team took their talents to the international stage as they hosted a team who traveled to the South Shore from Germany.
"What an amazing game," said Tahoe parent Jeanna Rangel. "Great sportsmanship. No shoving or pushing. Just straight fun. This was a once in a lifetime opportunity for both teams!"
The match ended in a 1-1 tie.
Rangel said Tahoe player Ava Campbell had a few opportunities to score, but the ball just didn't make it into the goal.

Eight South Tahoe High students commit to play soccer for LTCC
Submitted by paula on Wed, 02/15/2017 - 2:40pm"Women's soccer has arrived," said Lake Tahoe Community College (LTCC) Women's Soccer Coach Jeremy Evans as he introduced the six South Tahoe High School (STHS) athletes that will be playing for him in the fall.
"I think we will finally be there," Evans said of a team that is primed for post-season play. Not only did he recruit the six young ladies from STHS, he also is adding a Truckee player, one from Reno, a Las Vegas player who was on state championship team for four years and has 14 returnees from his 2016 team.
STHS girls fall short on bid for consecutive state championship

It took two overtimes in their Friday night semi-final game for the Southern Nevada number one seed, Western High, to win by a score of 2-1.

The first round of the Nevada State Soccer Championships start Friday night in Las Vegas, and South Tahoe High's Lady Vikings are there to defend their title.
South Tahoe High, the defending state champs, meet Western, the number one seed from Southern Nevada at 6:00 p.m. November 11.

Submitted by paula on Sat, 10/08/2016 - 9:26pmThe South Tahoe High boy's tennis team continues to dominate Northern Nevada action on the courts and are now preparing to take their 12-0 record to the Nevada state tournament which begins in two weeks. In the meantime, players head to the regional playoffs.
South Tahoe High's varsity football team is now in a three-way tie for second place in Northern Nevada 3A with their 6-1 record. They blanked Dayton during Friday's homecoming game at South Tahoe, 57-0.
South Tahoe's girls soccer team set to defend state title Saturday
Submitted by paula on Fri, 11/13/2015 - 11:20pmDespite injuries which sidelined several varsity players, the South Tahoe Vikings' girls soccer team beat Spring Valley Friday afternoon, earning them a spot in the state final for Division 1-A teams.
The final score was South Tahoe 3, Spring Valley 1.
Earlier in the day, Truckee lost to Faith Lutheran 2-1.
South Tahoe Vikings are looking to three-peat as the Nevada Division I-A State Champs, and a win on Saturday would give them four state titles in just five years.
Girls from South Tahoe High go for three-peat of Nevada state title
Submitted by paula on Wed, 11/11/2015 - 3:01pmA little snow isn't going to get in the way of South Lake Tahoe's hosting of the 2015 NIAA Division 1-A High School Boys & Girls Soccer Championships November 13 and 14.
Since the new field at South Tahoe High is synthetic, snow can be plowed easily off the field, leaving it in good shape.
"Our maintenance department has done a great job of clearing the soccer field which is in excellent condition considering we recently had two snowstorms" said STHS Athletic Director Tony Sunzeri.

Championship next weekend.
Number 1 seed Truckee will meet with the number 2 seed Vikings on Saturday morning to determine the final bracket for State.
South Tahoe had a first round bye yesterday, then met Spring Creek for Friday's game. The Vikings won the game, 5-2.
The State Tournament will be held in South Lake Tahoe November 13-14 at South Tahoe High.
Whittell girls go for repeat of NIAA Division III Nevada State High School Championship

The girls beat Incline, the host of the tournament, by a score of 3-2.
North Tahoe beat their first round opponent, White Pine, 3-0, setting up the state tournament game between the Tahoe Basin's North and South. The game will be played Saturday, November 7 at 11 a.m. at Incline High School.

The Nevada State Tournament for both boys and girls soccer teams will be held in South Lake Tahoe Friday and Saturday, November 13 and 14. Both of the teams from South Tahoe High are in position to play in the big game, but first they have to place in either first or second place in next weekend's NIAA 1A Northern Championships in Elko, Nev.

LTCC found themselves without a women's coach after first year Coyote coach Christian DeLeon recently left the program to become the new women's head coach at Sierra Nevada College in Incline Village.
South Tahoe Viking Girls win State Soccer Championship

The Lady Vikings and the Sierra Vista High team were tied 2-2 after the Division 1-A regulation match after South Tahoe's Ashlee Schouten and Maia Bickert each scored goals, one in each half. Freshman Annie Brejc shot in the winning goal in overtime, resulting in a 3-2 victory over the team from Southern Nevada.
On the boys side, Truckee and Chapparal were tied in their match as well. Truckee went on to win the State Championship.

On Friday night, the South Tahoe High Varsity Girls beat the #1 seed from the South, Faith Lutheran by a score of 2-1. Junior Ashley Schouten scored both goals for STHS. Their nemesis from the North, Truckee, lost their match Friday against Sierra Vista High 1-0.

Carson City.
The SLT team beat Bishop 5-0 and Carson City 5-0 on Saturday.
On Sunday, they beat Truckee 2-0 and Mammoth 2-1.

Whittell Girls Soccer Team #1 in State!
Submitted by paula on Sat, 11/08/2014 - 6:32pmThe Whittell Warriors Girls soccer team are now Nevada State Champs after they won the NIAA Division III Nevada State High School Tournament Saturdy in Zephyr Cove.
The Whittell girls beat the number two tournament seed, Incline High by a score of 3-1. This was the second time in school history the Whittell girls brought home the trophy.

South Tahoe Girls soccer team wins NIAA Semifinals; Championship match Saturday
Submitted by paula on Fri, 11/07/2014 - 11:41pmThe Lady Vikings of South Tahoe High extended their season at least one more day by beating Lowry Friday during the Division 1A Regional Semifinals. Freshman Annie Brejc had two goals on the day with Junior Ashlee Schouten and Senior Maia Bickert each kicking in one.
They are now 19-2-1 on the season and meet their league rival Truckee Wolverines for the Regional Championship. That match will be in Truckee on Saturday, November 8 at 2 p.m.
Whittell High's girls soccer team goes for state title on Saturday

With a league leading record of 14-0 (and overall 17-1), the Whittell girls breezed into the final game by beating White Pine 5-0.
In the other playoff game at Whittell on Friday, Incline High beat North Tahoe with a score of 5 to 4.
The Warriors girls team will play Incline at noon on Saturday at Whittell High.
High school sports kick off their first weekend in South Lake Tahoe

Viking Coach Kevin Hennessee has five seniors on his team, 24 juniors and two sophomores.
Both the Boy's and Girl's Cross County teams head to Shadow Mountain Park in Sparks for their meets.
On Saturday, the South Tahoe Girls Soccer teams take to the field. The Vikings host Montgomery in an 11 a.m. JV game and 1 p.m. Varsity match up.

In Friday's first round action the Lady Vikings beat Faith Luthern by a score of 2-1 which brought them to today's championship round against Pahrump Valley. South Tahoe High School will celebrate the unveiling of its renovated Viking Bowl facility tonight by hosting Churchill County in a Northern 3A football contest.
The game is scheduled for a 7 p.m. kickoff on a field that has been converted from natural to synthetic turf and now has permanent lighting.
South Tahoe kicked off its season last Friday with a 35-12 victory at Portola, Calif.
Tonight will be the league opener for both the Vikings and Churchill County Greenwave (Fallon).
