Early registration for Sample the Sierra, Lake Tahoe’s only farm to fork festival, is open until August 1. Early bird tickets at a discounted rate of $30 per person are available until August 1. The South Lake Tahoe Optimist Club is having their 11th Annual Day in Paradise on Saturday, June 21 at the Tahoe Paradise Park.

There will be Duck Races, a BBQ, a Rib cook off, beer garden, car show, games for the kids and even a race.

Admission is free and there will be Live music.

Join hundreds of your friends, neighbors, co-workers during the 2014 Tahoe Bike Challenge, an annual event that encourages Lake Tahoe residents to get out of their cars and onto bikes.

The event starts off on Saturday with a Bike Trail Clean Up Day. Anyone can join them at three locations after signing up,and lunch is even included. Meet at Sierra Nevada Alliance at 2311 Lake Tahoe Blvd, Los Angeles and Hwy 50 by the fire station or behind Clean Tahoe, 2074 Lake Tahoe Blvd. Lunch will be served after the clean up day at the League to Save Lake Tahoe.

The Future Business Leaders of Tahoe student club at Lake Tahoe Community College warmly invites one and all to join in the first-ever LTCC Community Games on Saturday, May 31 from 9 a.m. to 9:30 p.m. in the Fitness Education Center at LTCC. If, like us, you’ve been inspired by our local Olympic champions and now wish to grab some gold for yourself (while spreading the concepts of good sportsmanship and community spirit), then the Community Games are for you!

The Third Annual Lake Tahoe Home and Garden Show will take place at the Recreation Center, 1180 Rufus Allen Blvd., in South Lake Tahoe, CA, this weekend. The popular event will be open 4:00 PM to 7:30 PM on Friday, April 25th,and from 10:00 AM to 5:00 PM on Saturday, April 26, 2014. Admission is free to the public.

Sierra-at-Tahoe Resort hosted a "Golden Celebration" on March 15, 2014 to welcome home Winter Olympians, Jamie Anderson, Maddie Bowman, and Hannah Teter. The day started with a procession through South Lake Tahoe where people lined the streets to catch a glimpse of the gold medalists. The celebration at Sierra Resort consisted of a grand ceremony, proclamations from dignitaries, including California Senator Gaines, and live music. The girls also signed autographs and danced the night away. Thanks to the entire community for coming out to celebrate. Way to go Team Sierra!

The Annual South Lake Tahoe Earth Day will be held on Saturday, April 26 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at Bijou Community Park.

The festivities will include live music, a kid's zone, raffle prize and informative and interactive booths.

There will be plenty of opportunity to learn about local environmental issues while celebrating the Lake Tahoe region's unique beauty.

Putting on the annual Valhalla Art, Music and Theatre Festival takes more than a village. It requires the skills, creativity and organization of a Festival Director. The Tahoe Tallac Association, which produces the Festival, is pleased to announce its new Festival Director, Evangeline Elston.

During the winter of 1960, athletes from around the world came to Lake Tahoe to participate in the Winter Olympic Games. The biathlon and cross country events were held in what is now Sugar Pine Point State Park. A celebration of the area's snow heritage begins Saturday with a series of events to showcase makes the region so special.

After uprooting from their Nashville home and full-time jobs in June of 2012, the husband and wife duo You Knew Me When set plans to tour the nation for a full year…however, they never stopped. Since that time they have been serving up their craft brewed compositions coast to coast throughout the USA and into Canada, released their first studio album “You, Me, and the Rest of the World”, and have done so as a fully independent entity. Now 18 Months into their ongoing tour, the duo makes a South Lake Tahoe stop on January 25th at the Himmel Haus.

With winter right around the corner Sierra-at-Tahoe Resort is excited to generate early season stoke and support the local community with the second annual Sierra Snowball Fight: A Dodgeball Tournament at Steamers Bar and Grill on November 14, 2013. Sierra Resort™ fans and season passholders will be able dodge, dive, dip, duck and dodge while helping support the local community. Sierra Resort is happy to continue their longstanding commitment to the community and share their excitement for the upcoming 2013-14 season.

Halloween is always a celebration in South Lake Tahoe and this year is no different. Even though the actual holiday is on Thursday, October 31, the parties and celebrations start in town this weekend. Here is an overview on all that is happening:

Halloween Dance with the Tahoe Dance Band - at the Senior Center on Friday, October 25. The 17 piece dance band will perform big band music, food, drink, costume prizes. 7:30 - 10 pm. $10.

The Pumpkin and Pony Festival at Forest Suites had several things for everyone to enjoy. There were local business booths, a pumpkin patch, pony and tractor rides, a climbing wall and bouncy house, live music and two food booths and historical entertainment. You can still catch this on Sunday from 10 am to 6 pm.

The South Tahoe Music Department had a rummage sale in the parking lot of the Emerald Bay Center for Women's Health to raise money for the music programs.

Focused on enriching the guests’ overall experience, Sierra-at-Tahoe Resort is excited to offer new additions for the 2013-14 season that will offer guests an enhanced on-mountain and overall experience. A new 9,000 square foot structure and plaza will improve the base area experience, enhance the overall après atmosphere, and give guests a place to gather and celebrate winter in the mountains. The Burton Star Wars™ Experience continues to grow with the Burton Star Wars™ Echo Base, a learning experience for kids ages 7-12.

This event, spearheaded by a group of local motorcycle enthusiasts, is one of the largest fund raisers for Christmas Cheer in South Lake Tahoe. Christmas Cheer is a non-profit organization, dedicated to providing food to needy family's year around, and Christmas toys to underprivileged children in our community. With record numbers of people in need in our community, we would appreciate any and all donations for prizes to be raffled at our Toy Run. With the holidays just around the corner, and when the need is the greatest, we plan to assist Christmas Cheer in their mission.

3rd Annual Meyers/Lake Tahoe Climbing Festival And Outdoor Bouldering Competition.

This event will include: All Ages and Skills Bouldering Competition, Booths from Local Adventure and Climbing Businesses, Dyno Competition, Awards Ceremony, Live Music, Local Food and BBQ, Beer Garden hosted by local breweries, and more!

Celebrate the changing of the seasons and community wellness at Autumn Fest on Saturday, September 21 from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Lake Tahoe Community College Demonstration Garden. The day will be filled with family fun including: local music, wellness talks and activities, fall family portraits, food, produce, pumpkin patch, kids crafts, and more.

This free event benefits the Lake Tahoe Community College Demo Garden.

The Lake Tahoe Community College Foundation, in cooperation with David Brock Music, announces an afternoon soirée of music, food, drink and good fellowship to benefit the Music Department at LTCC for the purchase of musical instruments. This event will be held Sunday, Sept. 29 at 3 p.m. at a private residence in Stateline, Nev.

Delectable hors d'oeuvres will be prepared and served by members of the Culinary Arts Program at LTCC. Hand-picked wine selections from Amador and Napa vineyards will also be featured.

Barton Foundation Signature Cocktail Contest returns Sept. 12, from 5:30 to 8 p.m. at the Riva Grill.
This year, the Barton Health Festival of Trees and Lights annual Signature Cocktail Contest will feature unique and tasty drinks created by bartenders from Chart House, Heavenly, Kalani’s, LewMarNel’s, MontBleu, Naked Fish and Riva Grill.

Since its conception in 2010, the Labor Day weekend's Sample the Sierra has continued to grow and evolve. Beginning as a one-day South Lake Tahoe street festival, the event has expanded into an entire weekend of festivities celebrating the bounty and heritage of the Sierra Nevada region.

With Lake Tahoe teeming with crawfish, why not celebrate the tiny fresh water crustaceans with their own festival? MontBleu Resort Casino & Spa fires up the vats and gets the stew pots steaming Aug. 24 with the inaugural Boil 'n Fry Day Festival, featuring fresh crayfish straight out of Lake Tahoe.

The all-day festival at the MontBleu Outdoor Event Center features live music by five bands, crawfish fried, boiled or barbecued, carnival and lawn games, a dunk tank, craft beer and a full bar, hot wings, a cool-off zone, cash prizes and raffles.

Return to the 1920s and enjoy the 28th annual Great Gatsby Festival on the Pope Estate at the Tallac Historic Site, Lake Tahoe Aug. 10-11. Visitors will find antiques, Roaring ’20s era costumes, live music, interactive historic house tours, vintage auto rides, ice cream, cotton candy and vintage kid’s games.
