Jennifer McEuen Solo Art Exhibit, Devotion

Benko Gallery in South Lake Tahoe is hosting a Solo art exhibit featuring the collected works of Jennifer McEuen. The exhibit theme DEVOTION is expressed through McEuen’s paintings, which delve into expanded perceptions with a strong grounding in realism.

McEuen’s work has been exhibited in many premier galleries in both North America and Europe. DEVOTION brings together more than 4 years of groundbreaking work and features over 15 original paintings. During this time, McEuen has participated in over 50 exhibits and now is bringing the best of these combined efforts to this one single solo exhibit at Benko Art Gallery.

McEuen blends psychedelic art with both realistic rendering and mythological themes—this makes her work accessible to those seeking the surreal as well as a wide range of visual art devotees. Paintings included in DEVOTION are exploratory, while her skills reflect a highly disciplined artistic tradition.

Jennifer describes ‘DEVOTION’ and her work:

“‘DEVOTION’ is a culmination of my growth as an artist: a path I have chosen: a practice to which I devote my self/life. The exhibition titling inspiration came to me while I was painting recently… popping into my mind while in the trance of mid-brush stroke. 

Oil painting began for me in 2006, and has changed my life, for the better. In this exhibition, I showcase a series of painting inspired in 2011, which began to birth itself in 2012. ‘The Rainbow Warriors’ series is based upon people I have met in my life, that have deeply inspired me and that I feel embody a self-mastery, encapsulated in a specific chakra… seven.

Along with other more recent works, the body of work represented in ‘DEVOTION’ reflects years of commitment and joy at the easel. Not only is it my career, but a devotional practice to life, a way for me to meditate and go deeper into my process of feeling and reflecting life. 

Art is a great journey, and I see this exhibition as a closing/completion of a chapter in a book, and a rebirth of a new cycle in my life, work, and practice. “
