Just about a year ago, Lake Tahoe Unified School District Superintendent Dr. James Tarwater was contacted by the Larry King show, In View, to be one of 12 school districts in the state to be featured on the FOX Business Network program.
The show will be a special edition, half-hour program focusing on the state of education, but just released is an eight-minute demo on South Tahoe High.
"We wish to feature the best and most relevant positive stories, from the best and brightest out there,” the producer told Tarwater at the time. The show's focus will be “The Impact of Public Education on Economic Sustainability”.
Being part of the show didn't come without a price tag though. LTUSD paid $27,900 for pre-production scheduling. For their payment, LTUSD will have control over all of the content for a four to five minute broadcast segment, a 30-second commercial for LTUSD to use for any promotion or outreach, a custom 6-8 minute demo DVD (shown here), and ten hours of video footage from the shoot The board felt it would be a good investment as the video would showcase the district and its facilities as well as being a marketing tool.
