New Snow At Heavenly in time for holiday weekend
Submitted by Editor on Tue, 02/14/2012 - 3:21pm
Heavenly Mountain Resort received five inches of new snow Monday, just in time for President’s Weekend. More snow is on the way with a new storm expected to arrive by Wednesday morning.
The West Coast's largest snowmaking system has worked overtime this season, providing the best surface conditions on the trails where the resort has made snow. The upcoming holiday will feature great skiing and snowboarding, music and on-mountain competitive events.
“It's nice of Mother Nature to show up and give our snowmakers the night off,” said Pete Sonntag, Heavenly’s general manager. “We've got terrain open for all ability levels, from beginner slopes to the double-black diamond Face. We're looking forward to an awesome holiday week.”
Highway to Heavenly
Three Fridays in a row, on Feb. 10, 17 and 24, the Highway to Heavenly ski limousine will drive around San Francisco and whisk a group of up to four friends away to Heavenly for the weekend. To win, four friends must dress in ski gear, go to any San Francisco bar on Friday night and Tweet a photo to @Hwy2Heavenly. The most enthusiastic, ski-ready Twitter photo will win the trip that very same night and be transported to Heavenly in the limo.
The weekend trip includes a two-night stay in a suite at MontBleu Resort Casino and Spa, skiing or riding on Saturday and Sunday with equipment and lift tickets included, a three-hour private ski or snowboard lesson and mountain tour, a chauffeured limo, $450 per person to spend on food and drinks, and more.
Stateline Showdown – February 18
The first part of the Stateline Showdown, a three-part slopestyle competition series, will take place at Ante Up Terrain Park at Heavenly Mountain Resort on February 18 from 9:30 a.m.-2:00 p.m. The entry fee is $20, and the other two dates are March 10 and 24. For more information, call the Heavenly Events Department at (530) 542-5133.
Tahoe South Winter Snow Blast Weekends – February 25
Heavenly and Harrah’s Lake Tahoe team up to bring Tahoe South Winter Snow Blast 2012, four big weekends of on-mountain concerts and après ski entertainment, followed by nights of live music and a hot new club scene. On Saturday, February 25, a live on-mountain concert at Heavenly’s Adventure Peak will be followed by Unbuckle at Tamarack, Tahoe’s Ultimate Après Party. Then G. Love and The Special Sauce will perform live in the South Shore Room at Harrah’s Lake Tahoe.
