The South Shore community members have big hearts! I wanted to send my congratulations to the organizers and participants at the St. Baldrick’s Foundation fund raiser on Friday, February 27th at the Ice Arena in South Lake Tahoe. What a fantastic event for a foundation with the goal to “Conquer Childhood Cancers.” Thank you!
While there were many community members and volunteers from clubs and organizations like the Rotary Club of South Lake Tahoe working the event and organizers and sponsors like the Northern Nevada Children’s Cancer Foundation, Heavenly, and Kirkwood, there was also tremendous participation by organized groups like the South Lake Tahoe Fire Department, Lake Valley Fire Department, numerous Heavenly and Kirkwood employees, and people from all walks of life there to support and raise funds to conquer this terrible disease.
I understand that approximately 180 people were there for the shave. Even for those of us who have naturally shaved heads, we could still contribute and be a part of this tremendous event.
Our community can do so much good when we all work toward the same goal and have the entire community at heart.
