COVID-19 case update for Lake Tahoe and surrounding counties

EL DORADO COUNTY, Calif. - County officials are reporting no new COVID-19 cases, with nine active cases remaining. They also say there were no new recoveries on Thursday.

To date, 2,770 tests have been administered.

Twenty people in the Lake Tahoe region of the county have tested positive. This region includes South Lake Tahoe, Meyers, Kyburz, and Tahoma.

Washoe County

The Regional Information Center is reporting an additional COVID-19-related death in Washoe County: A male in his 70s with underlying health conditions.

This is the 38th COVID-19-related death in Washoe County.

In addition, there were just eight additional positive COVID-19 cases reported for the second day in a row and 25 additional recoveries.

62 percent of short-term, acute-care hospital beds are occupied (+2% since May 5)
35 percent of the Intensive Care Unit beds are occupied (-3%)
19 percent of ventilators are in use (+3%)

Quad-Counties - Carson City, Douglas, Storey, Lyon

Quad-County Emergency Operations Center is reporting one new positive case and four additional recoveries of COVID-19 in the Quad-County region. This brings the total number of cases to 110, with 69 recoveries and one death, 40 cases remain active.

The new case is:
• A female Lyon County resident in her 20’s

Carson City Health and Human Services is working to identify close risk contacts to prevent further spread of the disease. Due to medical privacy requirements and to protect their identity, no further information about the case will be released.

There were two new cases of confirmed COVID-19 in Placer County Thursday.

Alpine County

There have only been updates to the county's testing figures. The two positive case numbers have not risen in a few weeks. The figures below are the last ones reported on April 27 and there have been no changes.
