COVID-19 case update for Lake Tahoe area counties

SOUTH LAKE TAHOE, Calif. - El Dorado County is reporting three new confirmed cases of COVID-19, two of them in the Lake Tahoe region and the other in El Dorado Hills. One is aged 18-49 and the other two are in the 50-64-year-old age group. 84 people have now tested positive for the coronavirus in the county.

Two more have recovered, bringing the total number of recoveries to 61.

Ninety more tests were conducted Thursday with a total now of 5,955 tests administered.

There have been 30 cases in the Lake Tahoe area (including South Lake Tahoe, Meyers, Strawberry, and Tahoma).

Quad-Counties - Carson City, Douglas, Storey, Lyon

Carson City Health and Human Services (CCHHS) is reporting four new positive cases and five additional recoveries of COVID-19 in the Quad-County region. This brings the total number of cases to 182, with 134 recoveries and five deaths, 43 cases remain active.

The new cases are:
• A female Carson City resident in her 50’s
• A male Lyon County resident in his 60’s
• A female Carson City resident in her 20’s
• A female Carson City resident under the age of 18

Carson City Health and Human Services is working to identify close risk contacts to prevent further spread of the disease. Due to medical privacy requirements and to protect their identity, no further information about the cases will be released.

Washoe County

The Regional Information Center is reporting an additional COVID-19-related death in Washoe County: A male in his 60s with underlying health conditions.

There are 55 COVID-19-related deaths in Washoe County.

In addition, there are 29 new cases of COVID-19 in Washoe County with 21 recoveries.
