STATELINE, Nev. - The Nevada Highway Patrol, along with the Douglas County Sheriff’s Office, will be closing State Route 207 (Kingsbury Grade) on Wednesday, May 15, 2019, from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. It will be closed at Foothill Road for traffic headed to Lake Tahoe and at Tramway Drive for traffic heading down to the valley.
They will be conducting a follow-up investigation to April 26's arrest of a triple homicide suspect. A Douglas County Sheriff's sergeant was shot in the hand, and suspect Stefon Jefferson was grazed by a bullet during an exchange of gunfire prior to Jefferson's apprehension.
Investigators will do an essential scene recreation and a walkthrough with all officers involved in the shooting and apprehension of the suspect.
Plan on utilizing alternate routes during this time.
