Douglas County sheriff's deputy shot in neck; Two suspects arrested
Submitted by paula on Mon, 12/21/2020 - 1:23amA Douglas County Sheriff's Office deputy was shot and suffered serious injuries late Sunday night following an incident in Gardnerville. Two suspects are in custody.
The incident happened before 11:30 p.m. in the area of Gilman and Douglas streets, near Sharkey's casino, according to dispatch reports.
The condition of the officer is unknown at this time. He was flown by Care Flight to the trauma ward at Renown Medical Center in Reno. According to dispatch, the deputy was struck by gunfire in the neck.
Supervisor of two marijuana gardens arrested in connection with death of El Dorado County deputy

The supervisor of two marijuana gardens in the rural communities of Somerset and Georgetown, Jorge Lamas, was arrested in Yuba City on October 25 by the U.S. Marshals Service. Lamas is a resident of that Northern California town.
Kingsbury Grade to close Wednesday for continuing investigation

There were three warrants for the arrest of Billy Jo Johnson on Monday, one from each South Lake Tahoe, Douglas County and Carson City. Law enforcement from each agency were working together on their cases in an attempt to locate and arrest the 34-year-old Johnson.

A 911 call about a possible domestic violence situation in an apartment on La Canada Drive was received by the El Dorado County Sheriff's Office dispatch at 6:10 a.m. on Thursday, November 17. According to the reporting party, there was an armed man holding a woman and her baby against their will inside the apartment.

At 2:00 p.m. on July 30, Douglas County Sheriff's deputies responded to the Gardnerville Ranchos after receiving a call saying the 48-year-old Perkins was armed with multiple weapons and had threatened his wife and told her he was going to shoot a police officer and kill a neighbor.

Lt. Scott Shaw said police responded to a call of destruction of property and gunfire around 6:30 p.m.
Omarri Calvin Jeron Williams, 25, was coaching basketball at the school on Carville Drive in central Reno. His car was parked out front when somebody informed him his windows were being broken.
Son and mother both dead after domestic dispute at Minden home

A preliminary report shows that 27-year-old Jarek Kozlowski died of respiratory failure at the hospital October 16 at 7:40 p.m. DSCO said the report shows Kozlowski did not as a result of injuries sustained in the shooting incident.

Four years ago Sunday, Nevada Guardsmen Lt. Col. Heath Kelly, 35, Master Sgt. Christian Riege, 38, Sgt. 1st Class Miranda McElhiney, 31, and civilian Florence Donovan-Gunderson, 67, of South Lake Tahoe, were killed in the shooting rampage, in which the mentally ill gunman took his own life. Two other soldiers and seven patrons suffered injuries.

Martin, 60, died July 3 in the Pike & San Isabel National Forest, 30 miles southwest of Denver. The 3.1-million-acre forest holds the record for the most gun-related violations reported in the country, a review of federal records by the USA TODAY Media Network shows.

Six Douglas County deputies on administrative leave after shooting of Nevada man

Douglas County Sheriff’s Deputies were received a report at 2 p.m. that Gardnerville Ranchos resident, Mark Perkins age 48, was armed with multiple weapons and had threatened his wife and told her he was going to shoot a police officer and kill a neighbor.
After receiving an arrest warrant for Perkins and a search warrant for his Monument Peak Drive home, S.W.A.T. and Crisis Negotiation Teams (CNT) were activated to serve the warrants.
Arrest made in Placerville shooting

A 55-year-old Cirtrus Heights man was treated and is expected to survive his gunshot wound. Authorities arrested a Wamego Road man, identified as Robert Mckiernan, on suspicion of the crime, which was reported to the Sheriff's Dispatch center at around 7:30 p.m.
South Lake Tahoe authorities find weapons, truck associated with Friday night shooting

Police arrived in the area and located a vehicle and an occupied residence both of which had damage consistent with gunfire. Gunshot fired inside South Lake Tahoe bar, local man arrested

The incident happened at around 1:40 a.m. at Whiskey Dick's, 2660 Lake Tahoe Blvd. Scott William Enerson, 48, was arrested in the incident. He faces a charge of attempted murder, according to El Dorado County Sheriff's Office booking information. There were no injuries as a result of the gunfire. Minor injuries were reported that resulted from a fight.

Carson City IHOP Shooting: Four dead, including two National Guard personnel, six wounded (W/TRANSCRIPT)

Update 2:00 p.m.: Here is what we know at this point:
Four people are dead, including the gunman who shot himself and died later at the hospital. Two of the dead where a man and women in the National Guard, who were in uniform.
There is a press conference scheduled for 3 p.m.
A few minutes before 9 a.m., a lone gunman armed with automatic AK-47-type assault rifle drives up to the IHOP on South Carson Street, and begins shooting in the parking lot. Locals BBQ owner Ralph Swagler said he saw the man drive up, and then empty a clip of ammo outside the IHOP, then reloads and goes inside, where he fires more shots very rapidly and exits within a few seconds.
Swagler said the gunman then saw his son locking the door of their business and opened fire at them. He also allegedly fired shots at the H&R Block office next door. Sometime after, the gunman shot himself, and died later at the hospital.
