The City of South Lake Tahoe has opened their boat ramp for the season.
2012 was the last year the El Dorado Beach boat ramp was open due to the following years of less than stellar winters and the ensuing drought.
The cost is $17.00 - Day Use Launch, $40.00 - Commercial Day Use Launch and $138.00 - Annual Pass. There are staff members assigned to the launch to collect fees. The ramp is open 8:00 a.m to 6:00 p.m. daily with the last launch at 4:30 p.m.
There is a maximum length of 22-feet for boats that can be launched as the water there is still not deep due to the slight slope of the beach. There are 35 boat trailer parking spots on Harrison Avenue across from the boat ramp entrance and they are available on a first come, first serve basis.
Lake Tahoe does require a boat to receive an inspection before going into the lake and boat will not be allowed into the lake without one. For more info: http://tahoeboatinspections.com/inspection-locations/
