City of South Lake Tahoe facilities to start reopening

SOUTH LAKE TAHOE, Calif. - The City of South Lake Tahoe will be opening their boat ramp at El Dorado Beach on Friday, May 29. Only boats with valid Tahoe, Echo Lake or Fallen Leaf Lake seals and a 2020 Tahoe sticker will be able to launch. "Tahoe Only" stickers are available for purchase at this launch site. They will be open Friday through Sunday only at this time from 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.
Only one boat will be able to occupy the dock at a time. The boat ramp will be not be accepting cash and wireless payment technology will be utilized.
City parks at Bijou, Regan, and Lakeview Commons will also be reopening on May 29. Restrooms on-site will be cleaned three times a day with portapotties also available. At this time restrooms will be open from 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Parking lots at those parks will be open.
Playgrounds at City parks will be closed at this time and enclosed with temporary fencing with signage, “Closed Due to COVID-19.” The parks, including the Bonanza Neighborhood Park, are open for public use and small group activities with physical distancing and conditions on gatherings being followed but no group events/picnics are permitted.
The other SLT Recreation Center and City activities will reopen in the following order after community centers are permitted to be opened and can be so safely and within appropriate budget:
1. Youth Camps
2. Campground by the Lake
3. Pool (aquatics)
4. Weight Room
5. Aerobics and Dance Classes
6. Pickleball in Gym
7. Bijou Golf Course
City facilities, City Hall, Development Services and Public Works Administrative Offices, are preparing to open public reception counters on a limited basis starting Monday, June 1, 2020. Staffing for office operations will be staggered to allow for safe distancing.

The Department will continue to accept and process electronic submittals of planning and building permit applications
The Development Services Department (Front Lobby & Counter) will now re-open from 7:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m., Monday, Wednesday and Friday
Staff will continue to initiate and participate in teleconferencing meetings. The Department will secure multiple GoToMeeting licenses as a teleconferencing platform.
• July 1, 2020 and beyond
Continue to monitor and evaluate State and County requirements for moving into next step of transition and align departments scheduling to reflect State and County’s guidelines
The Development Services Department (Front Lobby & Counter) will now be open:
a. 7:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m., Monday, Wednesday and Friday
b. 1:30 p.m. to 3:30 p.m., Tuesday and Thursday
Public Works - 1700/1740 D Street
• June 8, 2020 through June 30, 2020
A ring doorbell or similar system will be installed to manage entrance to offices/shop
Visitors shall enter offices through single door marked with sign overhead indicating City Public Works Department
Staff will continue to initiate and participate in teleconferencing meetings. The Department will secure multiple GoToMeeting licenses as a teleconferencing platform
