COVID-19 case update for Lake Tahoe area counties

SOUTH LAKE TAHOE, Calif. - El Dorado County health officials are reporting six new confirmed cases over the weekend, five from the Lake Tahoe region and the other from the Cameron Park/Shingle Springs area. All are male, three aged 18-49 and three 50-64.

Two more have recovered, bringing that total to 67. One person is still hospitalized county-wide in the ICU and there are 29 active cases.

An additional 289 people were tested since Friday, 6,348 since the pandemic started.

There have been 41 cases in the Lake Tahoe area (including South Lake Tahoe, Meyers, Strawberry, and Tahoma).

Quad-Counties - Carson City, Douglas, Storey, Lyon

Carson City Health and Human Services (CCHHS) is reporting four new positive cases and five additional recoveries of COVID-19 in the Quad-County region. This brings the total number of cases to 197 with 144 recoveries and five deaths, 48 cases remain active.

The new cases are:
• A female Carson City resident in her 30’s
• A male Lyon County resident in his 20’s
• A male Lyon County resident in his 20’s
• A male Lyon County resident in his 40’s

Carson City Health and Human Services is working to identify close risk contacts to prevent further spread of the disease. Due to medical privacy requirements and to protect their identity, no further information about the cases will be released.
