A Celebration of Life has been set for long-time local resident Doug Madden who passed away on February 1, 2019.
Friends and family will be gathering at the Lakeland Village Clubhouse on June 23 from 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. To attend, please email Mickey at maddens021@gmail.com
Mickey and Doug had been married for 48 years. He is also survived by daughter Shannon Crowe, daughter Kendra Miesner, and granddaughters Brianna and Adrienne. He was an avid dog lover and Cleo and Jake will miss him very much.
Doug always had a silly face, funny story or joke to brighten the day. He is now in a pain-free comfortable place but he will be sorely missed by friends and family.
He was a Veteran of the Vietnam War and Military Police for the Air National Guard.
Doug loved Lake Tahoe and spent most of his life here, almost 60 years, hailing from Victoria, BC. He worked at Barney’s, Harvey’s and the Hyatt for 22 years. In his later years, he loved volunteering with the Friends of the Library doing the Book Sales. He also helped many people by delivering books in the Books on Wheels program.
In lieu of flowers, please make a donation to Friends of the Library. If you would like to send a card: PO Box 13638, SLT, CA, 96151.
