South Lake Tahoe Library Programs to Keep Kids Busy All Summer

The South Lake Tahoe branch of the El Dorado County Library has a full schedule of kid's entertainment for the summer.
Entertainers, for children of all ages – Fridays at 2:00 pm
June 20th MAD SCIENCE: WHAT DO WE KNOW ABOUT H2O?
June 27th PUPPET ART THEATER: THE BOY WHO CRIED WOLF!
An updated zany version of a classic tale. The boy is bored watching his lamb and decides to make things more exciting by turning on his dad’s wolf alarm, the “Wolf Alert 3000.” Tricking his dad is all fun and games until a real wolf shows up.
July 11th MAGICIAN BRIAN SCOTT!
Brian Scott has entertained audiences for over 20 years, performing around the globe and throughout California with a highly interactive reading program that combines magic, comedy and pure fun.
July 18th BUGS! BUGS! BUGS!
Get acquainted with a variety of bugs from around the world!
Presented by UC Davis' Bohart Museum of Entomology.
July 25th WILD THINGS INC.
Join us on a journey through the wilderness of North America. Watch in wonder as we present the animals that inhabit this rugged country. Come face to face with a 7 foot alligator, Bald Eagle, and more.

July 10th BOOK MAKING
Design and decorate your own book. All supplies are provided. Just bring yourself and your imagination! Sign up at the library.
July 17th DUCT TAPE CRAFT-O-RAMA
Use duct tape to create wallets, wrist bands, and more. All supplies are provided. Just bring yourself and your imagination! Sign up at the library.
July 24th FELT CRITTERS
Stitch your own super-cool felt critter. All supplies are provided. Just bring yourself and your imagination! Sign up at the library.
July 31st BRUSH BOTS
Make your own moving bot from batteries and a toothbrush. All supplies are provided. Just bring yourself and your imagination!

Stay and Play @ the Library
Wednesdays, June 18th – July 30th
You’re invited to play at the library! Join us from 10:30 – 11:30 am for a messy, fun sensory activity that supports early literacy development. Appropriate for children ages 0-5 with their parents
and caregivers.
Mother Goose on the Loose
Thursdays, June 5th – July 30th
An interactive storytime program designed specifically for your baby using nursery rhymes, music & movement to promote early literacy and a lifelong love of reading. 0-2 years old. 10:30 am. NO afternoon program in June.

July 9th STUFFED ANIMAL SLEEP OVER
Bring in your stuffed animal or toy and we’ll put a name tag on it and take a picture of their night-time adventures in the library. Pick them up the next day!
July 24th ANIMAL ADOPTION – 12 to 3 pm
Looking for the perfect pet? Visit the Humane Society’s mobile pet adoption trailer at the South Lake Tahoe Library. Pick out the animal who is the best fit for your family, then complete the adoption at El Dorado County Animal Services.
