New Valhalla Tahoe "Evening on the Lawn" concerts this summer

Event Date:
July 5, 2017 - 5:30pm

SOUTH LAKE TAHOE, Calif. - The Valhalla Art, Music and Theatre festival schedule this summer is a full one and they've added a new event this summer, Evening Music on the Lawn.

The grand lawn at Valhalla has been a popular spot for Sunday afternoon concerts and now there will be two evening lawn concerts in 2017. Bring your lawn chairs and a picnic supper and enjoy some music, there will be a beer and wine garden too.

On Wednesday, July 5 from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m., enjoy Bob Woods’ Swampbilly, guitar driven Americana solid as the rails under Railroad Money and as sweet as the Sweetheart Of The Prison Rodeo. This show is a crossroads of blues, Cajun, country, swing, and folk driven by forty years of playing in beer joints and other honky-tonks. Bob Woods is a steam train engineer when he's not playing music.

The second Music on the Lawn will be on Wednesday, July 19 from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. when the Richard March Band comes to the South Shore. Richard is a Sacramento Area Music Award (SAMMIE) winner for Outstanding Male Vocalist, received a Best of Sacramento award from Sacramento Magazine for best local Americana artist, and was awarded Best Locally Produced Album in the Sacramento News and Review's 2007 "Best of" issue. As a songwriter/storyteller, March is a modern day throwback to the melodic, progressive country music stars of several decades ago when folks like Mickey Newbury, Kris Kristofferson and Glen Campbell were regularly heard on radio. March's live performance skills have garnered him opening positions for Johnny Cash's legendary backing band the Tennessee Three, Ramblin' Jack Elliott, Steve Forbert, John Hammond, Straycat Lee Rocker and the Hacienda Brothers.

To cover additional costs of these shows we are asking for a $10-$20 donation (make a donation here)
