COVID-19 case update for Lake Tahoe area counties

SOUTH LAKE TAHOE, Calif. - El Dorado County health officials are reporting 21 additional cases of COVID-19 Friday-Monday. Eight are in the Lake Tahoe region, six are in El Dorado Hills, two in the Diamond Springs/El Dorado area, and five in the Greater Placerville area. There was a reclassification of a case in Cameron Park/Shingle Springs.

An additional 751 tests were administered in the six-day period. There were five new recoveries leaving 56 active cases. There have been no new hospitalizations and one person remains in the ICU. There are currently three people in the ICU with suspected COVID-19.

County-wide there have been 178 cases with 88 of those in the Lake Tahoe area (including South Lake Tahoe, Meyers, Strawberry, and Tahoma).

Quad-Counties - Carson City, Douglas, Storey, Lyon

Carson City Health and Human Services (CCHHS) is reporting 14 new positive cases and no additional recoveries of COVID-19 in the Quad-County region since Friday. This brings the total number of cases to 333, with 230 recoveries and seven deaths, 96 cases remain active.

The new cases Monday are:
• A female Lyon County resident in her 40’s with a connection to a previously reported case.
• A female Douglas County resident in her 50’s with no connection to a previously reported case.
• A female Lyon County resident in her 20’s with no connection to a previously reported case.
• A male Lyon County resident in his 20’s with no connection to a previously reported case.

Carson City Health and Human Services is working to identify close risk contacts to prevent further spread of the disease. Due to medical privacy requirements and to protect their identity, no further information about the cases will be released.

The Regional Information Center is reporting 242 new COVID-19 cases in Washoe County since Friday.

31 (+0) of the confirmed cases to date are in Incline Village with 7 (-1) active ones, and one recovered case in Crystal Bay.

Placer County

There have been 50 new cases of confirmed COVID-19 in Placer County since Friday, with three new ones in the Lake Tahoe area.
