A big rig jackknifed on State Highway 89 near Emerald Bay at Cascade Lake Road Tuesday afternoon, closing the road as crews worked to get it off the road.
According to Caltrans, the big rig became stuck at 4:41 p.m. when it was unable to make it through a hairpin turn. All traffic was stopped in both directions until 6:22 p.m. when the rig was moved to a pull out by Eagle Point.
Traffic is now moving in both directions.
It is unknown if the truck was trying to get around the lake to Highway 50 after fire closed Interstate 80 most of the day. It is now reopened with one lane westbound and two lanes eastbound currently.
