EMERGENCY CLOSURE

State Route 89 (El Dorado County) from Fallen Leaf Lake Road to Vikingsholm Vista Point is closed in both directions indefinitely due to fire damage.

LONG-TERM PROJECTS

State Route 89 (Placer County): Work continues on a $70.1 million project from Tahoma to just north of Granlibakken Road in Tahoe City that is upgrading storm water drainage and treatment systems, adding curb and gutter, resurfacing and realigning the road, adding new left-turn pockets and widening shoulders on an 8-mile stretch of the highway. Completion is expected by summer 2017.
October 17-21 - State Route 89 (Placer County) from Oak Street to Cherry Street and from St. Michael’s Court to Sugar Pine Road Motorists can expect one-way traffic control from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday through Thursday and 6 a.m. to noon Friday for grinding and curb and gutter work.

State Route 89 (El Dorado County): Work continues on a $13 million water quality improvement project from Cascade Road to the Eagle Falls Viaduct over Emerald Bay. The project is constructing new drainage facilities to treat stormwater runoff and repaving a four-mile section of the highway. Completion is expected in spring 2017.
October 18-21 - State Route 89 (El Dorado County) from Cascade Road to Upper Emerald Bay Road: Motorists can expect one-way traffic control at various locations from 6 a.m. to 7 p.m. Tuesday through Thursday and 6 a.m. to 11 a.m. Friday for shoulder work.

State Route 89 (El Dorado County): Work continues on a $25 million project from the "Y" junction with U.S. Highway 50 in South Lake Tahoe to Cascade Road, north of Camp Richardson. Curb, gutter and sidewalks are being built in the 1.1-mile four-lane section, and the highway will be widened in the two-lane section to Visitor Center Road to provide 4-foot paved shoulders on each side. Drainage systems are also being built and the roadway is being resurfaced. Completion is expected this fall. No traffic-interfering work is scheduled on the highway.

State Route 28 (Placer County): Work continues on Placer County’s $50 million Kings Beach Commercial Core Improvement Project from State Route 267 to Chipmunk Street. Highway work includes installing curb and gutter, sidewalks, roundabouts, lighting and drainage systems to enhance pedestrian and bicycle mobility, improve safety and provide water-quality improvements. Completion is expected this fall.October 17-20 - State Route 28 (Placer County) from Beach Avenue to Deer Street: Motorists can expect one-way traffic control from 8 p.m. to 6 a.m. Monday through Wednesday for utility work. Motorists also can expect one-way traffic control from Fox Street to Beaver Street from 8 p.m. to 6 a.m. Tuesday through Thursday for utility work.

SHORT-TERM PROJECTS
State Route 28 (Placer County) from Rocky Ridge Road to Lake Forest Road East: Motorists can expect one-way traffic control from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m. Wednesday and Thursday for utility work.

State Route 28 (Placer County) from Lake Forest Road East to Beaver Street: Motorists can expect intermittent full highway closures from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Thursday for survey work.

U.S. Highway 50 (El Dorado County) from 5 Mile Road/Paul Bunyan Road to 8 Mile Road/Cedar Grove: Eastbound motorists can expect left-turn pockets closed from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. weekends during Apple Hill season for safety reasons during Apple Hill season.

U.S. Highway 50 (El Dorado County) from Strawberry Lodge Drive to Johnson Pass Road: Motorists can expect one-way traffic control at various locations from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. Monday through Friday for pavement striping.

U.S. Highway 50 (El Dorado County) at Baljibou Road: Eastbound motorists can expect the #2 lane closed from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Tuesday through Thursday for curb, gutter and sidewalk work.

State Route 89 (Placer County) from the Truckee River “Fanny” Bridge to Fairway Drive in Tahoe City: Motorists can expect one-way traffic control from 7:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. Tuesday for crack sealing.

State Route 89 (Placer County) from West River Street to the Truckee River Bridge in Olympic Valley: Motorists can expect intermittent one-way traffic control at various locations from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Thursday for tree work.
State Route 193 (El Dorado County) at the South Fork of the American River/Chili Bar: Motorists can expect one-way traffic control from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m. Tuesday through Friday for bridge work.

State Route 267 (Placer County) from Carnelian Bay Avenue to the junction with State Route 28 in Kings Beach: Motorists can expect one-way traffic control at various locations from 8 p.m. to 7 a.m. Sunday through Friday for recessed pavement striping.
