Barton Foundation's 19th annual Golf Tournament and fundraiser held on Thursday, June 20 at the Lake Tahoe Golf Course raised more than $14,000 for Barton’s Community Health Endowment fund. The Hawaiian themed, “Tiki Tee Off and Lei Up Luau Golf Tournament hosted a field of 108 golfers and 160 luau attendees – complete with a roasted pig, raffle prizes and a performance by the Ukuleles of Tahoe.
Congratulations to Michelle Murphy, Morgan Murphy, John Urrutia and Roger Pratt– the winning golf team. With a score of 60, the winning team is invited back next year to defend their title. Morgan Murphy, South Lake Tahoe High School golf star, won the women's “longest drive” category for the 5th year-in-a-row. Matt Diesselhorst won the “longest drive” for the men’s category. The longest drive winners each received a two-some at Lake Tahoe Golf Course. The “closest to the pin” winners, Cathy Vogelgesang and Don Womak, received a two-some at Tahoe Paradise golf course.
Barton Foundation has raised more than $570,000 over the last 19 years from the annual golf tournament. Endowment investment earnings will continue to allow The Foundation to invest in future medical services and equipment for Barton Memorial Hospital to assist in providing the best care for South Lake Tahoe community members.
