COVID-19 case update for Lake Tahoe area counties

SOUTH LAKE TAHOE, Calif. - EL Dorado County health officials report 13 new cases of COVID-19 with 10 in the Lake Tahoe Region, and one in each El Dorado Hills, North County and Cameron Park/Shingle Springs/Rescue. Of the new cases, five are male, eight are female, eight are aged 18-49, three aged 50-64 and two are 65 or over.

There have been an estimated ten new recoveries, leaving 174 active cases.

Testing sites were able to conduct 187 new tests.

There has been no change to the number of patients in the ICU - 2. There are currently three suspected COVID-positive patients in the ICU.

County-wide there have been 394 cases with 198 of those in the Lake Tahoe area (including South Lake Tahoe, Meyers, Strawberry, and Tahoma).

Quad-Counties - Carson City, Douglas, Storey, Lyon

Carson City Health and Human Services (CCHHS) is reporting seven new positive cases and ten additional recoveries of COVID-19 in the Quad-County region. This brings the total number of cases to 501, with 348 recoveries and eight deaths, 145 cases remain active.

The new cases are:
• A male Carson City resident in his 30’s with a connection to a previously reported case.
• A male Carson City resident in his 60’s with a connection to a previously reported case.
• A male Carson City resident in his 50’s with no connection to a previously reported case.
• A male Douglas County resident in his 30’s with no connection to a previously reported case.
• A male Lyon County resident in his 80’s with no connection to a previously reported case.
• A female Carson City resident in her 40’s with no connection to a previously reported case.
• A male Carson City resident in his 40’s with no connection to a previously reported case.

Carson City Health and Human Services is working to identify close risk contacts to prevent further spread of the disease. Due to medical privacy requirements and to protect their identity, no further information about the cases will be released.

Washoe County

The Regional Information Center is reporting 56 new COVID-19 cases and no new deaths in Washoe County since Thursday.

55 (+3) of the confirmed cases to date are in Incline Village with 15 (+3) active ones, and one recovered case in Crystal Bay.

Placer County

There have been 52 new cases of confirmed COVID-19 in Placer County since Thursday, with three of those new cases in the Lake Tahoe area.

Their seven-day test rate is 6 percent positive, and 14-day case rate is 112.7 per 100,000.
