COVID-19 case update for Lake Tahoe area counties

SOUTH LAKE TAHOE, Calif. - El Dorado County health officials today announced 22 new confirmed cases of COVID-19 in the county, ten of those in the Lake Tahoe region, six in Cameron Park/Shingle Springs/Rescue, and three each in Placerville and El Dorado Hills. Of the new cases, 11 are male, 11 are female, five are under the age of 18, 11 are aged 18-49, and six are aged 50-64.

There were an additional 277 tests for the coronavirus administered.

There are 13 assumed recoveries leaving 216 active cases. There has been no change in the hospitalization count with two in the ICU. There is also one additional person in the ICU with a suspected case of COVID-19.

To date, one South Lake Tahoe man has died.

County-wide there have been 486 cases with 233 of those in the Lake Tahoe area (including South Lake Tahoe, Meyers, Strawberry, and Tahoma).

Quad-Counties - Carson City, Douglas, Storey, Lyon

Carson City Health and Human Services (CCHHS) is reporting eleven new positive cases and fourteen additional recoveries of COVID-19 in the Quad-County region. This brings the total number of cases to 543, with 396 recoveries and nine deaths, 138 cases remain active.

The new cases are:
• A male Douglas County resident in his 70’s with no connection to a previously reported case.
• A male Carson City resident in his 30’s with a connection to a previously reported case.
• A female Lyon County resident in her 50’s with no connection to a previously reported case.
• A female Carson City resident in her 60’s with no connection to a previously reported case.
• A female Carson City resident in her 30’s with no connection to a previously reported case.
• A male Carson City resident under the age of 18 with no connection to a previously reported case.
• A male Carson City resident under the age of 18 with no connection to a previously reported case.
• A male Carson City resident in his 50’s with a recent travel history.
• A female Carson City resident in her 20’s with no connection to a previously reported case.
• A male Douglas County resident in his 20’s with a connection to a worksite exposure.
• An adult female Douglas County resident in her teens with no connection to a previously reported case.

Carson City Health and Human Services is working to identify close risk contacts to prevent further spread of the disease. Due to medical privacy requirements and to protect their identity, no further information about the cases will be released.

Drive-Thru COVID-19 Testing for Quad-County Residents Without Symptoms

There is one drive-thru COVID-19 testing event for Quad-County residents without symptoms this week. Testing is free of charge; first come, first served, no appointments or reservations.

The Regional Information Center is reporting 90 new COVID-19 cases and no new deaths in Washoe County since yesterday.

There have been 37 new cases of confirmed COVID-19 in Placer County since yesterday, with none of those new cases in the Lake Tahoe area.

Their seven-day test rate is 7.7 percent positive, and 14-day case rate is 127.8 per 100,000.
