Lake Tahoe entertainer Arthur Hervey launches campaign to help with medical expenses

Many people know him as Arty the Party, others know him as Arthur Hervey while others will remember him as a local entertainer who has graced local stages with his piano and singing for years.

Arty, who once worked for Caesars Tahoe and is now with Harrah's Tahoe, recently lost his wife Randee to Andrenal Cancer. Their love story lives on even though Randee is no longer with us. Facing mounting medical bills, a gofundme.com campaign has been launched to help with expenses.

As of today, over $16,000 has been raised on the fundraising website.

Here are his words:

Randee, my wife and best friend, passed away peacefully on Friday in her sleep. She battled her cancer (Adrenal Cancer) for nearly a year with the most courage I have ever seen. First we flew to St Louis surgeon and she had her right kidney and adrenal gland removed. The doctor felt like he had really got it all. Then on to MD Anderson in Texas. They treated her with a very harsh chemo but her body just couldnt take the extreme side effects. Then we tried a clinical trial in Arizona. We stayed there almost a month only to find they couldnt admit her. THen she had radiation on a tumor mass on her shoulder and neck area. Then on to Tulsa Oklahoma Cancer Center for another kind of Chemo and intense visits to a Endocrinologist. They all they could. They even called her at night from home, but the cancer had simply spread too fast too soon in too many parts of ther body. She smiled and kept hope for as long as she could.

Over these past many months, many concerned and loving friends have contacted me asking how they could help. I am one who dosent like asking for help at all. But at this point I am now facing a mountain of doctor, hospital and other related bills that have overwhelmed me and now threaten me legally. I know these are difficult times for most, but if your heart moves you so, and you are able to help, I assure you it will make all the difference in the world to me in helping me in my fight to recover.
