Investigation into fatal fire in Incline Village

One person died early Sunday morning as fire swept through their Incline Village home on Tomahawk Trail, north of SR28.
At 3:00 a.m. on Sunday, August 7, Washoe County Sheriff’s Office deputies and fire personnel were dispatched to a structure fire. Upon arrival they found the condominium fully engulfed in flames.
After several hours of firefighting efforts, crews were able to enter the structure and discover a subject deceased in the home.
Tahoe Douglas Fire Protection District, North Tahoe Fire Protection District, Truckee Meadows Fire Protection District and East Fork Fire Protection District joined together in firefighting efforts. Other agencies and departments that responded to the scene were from Southwest Gas, NV Energy, Washoe County Trauma Intervention Program and Northern Nevada Red Cross.
Washoe County Sheriff's detectives and the North Lake Tahoe Fire Protection District have launched a joint investigation into the cause of the fire.
The victim has yet to be identified and cause of death will be determined by the Washoe County Medical Examiner’s Office.
