Last day of the season for three Lake Tahoe boat inspection stations

The Tahoe Resource Conservation District reminds boaters that Sunday is the last day for inspections and decontaminations at the Alpine Meadows, Spooner Summit and Meyers Inspection stations. The Homewood and Northstar Inspection Stations are currently closed.
Beginning Monday watercraft without an intact Lake Tahoe wire inspection seal will be required to visit Cave Rock or Lake Forest boat launches to be inspected prior to launching (weather permitting).
New inspections can only be performed during daylight hours where enough ambient light is available to properly inspect the vessel and its compartments. Hot water decontaminations will continue to be available (additional fees may apply) during the month of October from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. for boats that are not Clean, Drained & Dry at Cave Rock and Lake Forest only.

Decontaminations required on boats without an intact Lake Tahoe wire inspection seal from Nov-Spring of 2013 will be done on a reservation basis only (weather permitting).
Winter weather may affect winter inspection location hours of operation, and any delays or closures will be posted at www.tahoeboatinspections.com or by calling (888) 824-6267. During the winter there are other launching facilities open, but no inspections will be available at these locations and only boats with intact Lake Tahoe wire inspection seals will be permitted to launch. Boaters should contact those facilities directly for their winter hours of operation.
