Cram-a-Cruiser to fill shelves for children's food program

Event Date:
October 8, 2016 - 9:00am

The semi-annual Cram-A-Cruiser Day will be held at the Grocery Outlet at 2358 Lake Tahoe Blvd. in South Lake Tahoe on Saturday, October 8 from 9:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.

Cram-A-Cruiser day encourages the community to fill up a South Lake Tahoe police cruiser with food to be given to children at local schools who need nutrition over the weekend when the LTUSD free lunch program doesn't cover meals.

Bread & Broth 4 Kids gives 150 children a backpack full of food every Friday during the school year. This is the second year the non-profit has filled the food needs after merging with Page & Sage who served kids for the previous four years. Each backpack contains two breakfasts, two lunches, three dinners and four snacks over a normal weekend, and more during holiday periods.

Food needed:

(Non-perishable, single serving sizes only)

Soup
Cup-of-Noodles
Top Ramen
Applesauce and other small containers of fruit
Packets of Oatmeal
Canned Tuna
Canned Chicken
Granola Bars
Individual size bags of nuts
Canned Chili and Stew
Fruit Snacks

Small packets of raisins

Canned Ravioli or Spaghetti
Instant cups of Mac n Cheese

Bread & Broth 4 Kids would like to that South Lake Tahoe Police Department for their continued support with usage of a police cruiser, Grocery Outlet for teaming with them for these events twice a year, and the South Lake Tahoe community for coming out to fill up the cruiser as many times as possible!
