South Lake Tahoe drop-off locations and special event for Toys for Tots

In an effort to help children in the South Lake Tahoe community enjoy the holiday season, local U.S. Marine Corps Toys for Tots organizers will be collecting toys at several locations including a big event on Saturday, December 1 from 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. Bring an unwrapped toy or book and help put a smile on the face of a local child.

Volunteers will be in front of Kmart at the Y in South Lake Tahoe with a vehicle from Jim Bagan Toyota and the goal is to stuff it full of toys for local youth.

Bring a toy and enjoy tasty treats from Sugar Pine Bakery.

For those unable to attend Saturday there are 20 toy drop-off locations in the community including Harrah's and Harveys Lake Tahoe.

Donations can be dropped off at the two casinos in their hotel lobbies near the gingerbread house displays or left with their valet drivers until December 15.

“For over seven decades, ‘Toys for Tots’ has brought Christmas and holiday joy to children and families who otherwise may not be able to afford gifts during this special time of the year,” said Regional President for Caesars Entertainment operations in Northern Nevada Brad Belhouse. “Harrah’s and Harveys Lake Tahoe are pleased and proud to be able to help the U.S. Marine Corps Reserve continue this great holiday tradition.”

Toy bins are also located at Tahoe Toys and Treasures, Village Toys, Toy Maniacs, Pet Station, Bank of the West, TJ Maxx, Barton Hospice, Lake Tahoe Community College, Lake Tahoe Acupuncture and South Lake Tahoe Fire Stations 1 and 3.
