Tahoe Film Fest returns with modified schedule on North Shore

INLINE VILLAGE, Nev. - The 6th Annual Tahoe Film Fest presents environmental and independent feature length and award winning films to North Lake Tahoe from December 3-6, 2020. Special guests and filmmakers will be present at many of the films.
The festival takes on a new look during the pandemic. The films originally scheduled for Northstar had to be moved as movie theaters must only operate outdoors due to Placer County's Purple Tier. The theaters on the Nevada side can still show films but only at 50 percent capacity.
All proceeds from Tahoe Film Fest benefit UC Davis Tahoe Environmental Research Center.
The films being shown include a winner from the Sundance Film Festival, nominations from the Cannes Film Festival, and Purple Mountains with Jeremy Jones who will be at the film showing. The professional snowboarder and mountaineer has an intimate relationship with the outdoors. It’s his escape, his identity, and his legacy. But over the course of his 45 years in the mountains, he’s seen many things change: more extreme weather, fewer snow days, and economic strain on mountain towns. Motivated by an urge to protect the places he loves, Jeremy sets out on a physical and philosophical journey to find common ground with fellow outdoor people across diverse political backgrounds. A clip is attached to this story. For a list of all movies, visit http://tahoefilmfest.com/.
