10th annual Christmas Giveaway with Dreda Dre in South Lake Tahoe

SOUTH LAKE TAHOE, Calif. - The 10th annual Christmas Giveaway is back, and bigger than ever. A Christmas concert and gift giveaway will help local families have a happier holiday season this year on Saturday, December 7 from 3:00 p.m.-6:00 p.m. at the South Lake Tahoe Recreation Center.

The event, hosted by local musician Dreda Dre, will include Christmas carols performed by the Lake Tahoe Unified School District Youth Choir belting out holiday cheer.

“The event has grown significantly over the years,” said Lauren Thomaselli, recreation superintendent for the City of South Lake Tahoe. “Many local businesses contribute in some way, and the City is happy to do its part to make a difference.”

The event mission is to provide local families with a little holiday cheer in a fun and festive atmosphere. Toys and clothes will be handed out on a first-come, first-serve basis. Santa will be there to take pictures with attendees.

“Recreation Services has provided a venue for this event for years due to the large number of community youth served and we are proud to be hosting it yet again,” said Thomaselli.

The Rec Center is located at 1180 Rufus Allen Blvd.

The event is free to attend and open to all ages.

Those wishing to donate items can drop them off at Butter Muffin until Dec. 6. They are located at 2540 Lake Tahoe Blvd., #12.
