Douglas County has selected three final candidates for Clerk/Treasurer in anticipation of a resignation for the term beginning January 5, 2015. The recruitment and selection has been led by the Douglas County Manager Jim Nichols with input from a Citizen Advisory Committee. The three candidates will be invited to a public reception that will occur on the evening of January 20th.
The 3 semi-finalists are:
• Kathleen DeSocio
• Eileen Thomas
“I have been very impressed with the entire committee,” said County Manager Jim Nichols. “They have all brought a great deal of professionalism to this process which I believe will provide us with an excellent Clerk/Treasurer for Douglas County.”
There were 10 applicants who applied for the position. The date for the reception is still in the planning stages. During the reception the three candidates will be interviewed by the committee and will then be asked to give a speech about their credentials and experience that make them best suited for the position. The committee will then further screen the candidates based on the information received from the interviews and reception. A list of final candidates will then be submitted to the Board of County Commissioners for consideration in February.
