Annual South Lake Tahoe tourism forum to focus on global visitors

Event Date:
April 18, 2017 - 8:15am

Business-minded South Shore locals, entrepreneurs, travel/tourism operators and marketing professionals are invited to the Lake Tahoe Visitors Authority and Tahoe Chamber's annual tourism forum. This year, the focus is “Welcoming the Global Guest.” The forum, which will focus on how Lake Tahoe businesses and locals can better prepare for international travelers, including Chinese visitors, will be held on Tuesday, April 18 from 8:15 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. at the Lake Tahoe Resort Hotel.

The keynote speaker, Daniel Crain, vice president education and training at BRIC Marketing (San Francisco based strategy consulting firm), will provide insight on being “Global Ready” and understanding cultural nuances and expectations when visiting the U.S.

Additional presenters include Kristine Tsusaki-Reddick, director of client relations, Northern California for Visit California; Carol Chaplin, CEO and president of the Lake Tahoe Visitors Authority; Tony Lyle, vice president tourism development of LTVA; and Craig Schmidt, CEO of Tahoe Chamber.

The annual forum highlights a major element of the future marketing equation for a tourism destination. International travel to California accounts for $24.4 billion in spending or 22 percent of total travel related revenue to the state.

To register, visit TahoeChamber.org. The cost is $25 for members, $40 for non-members (breakfast included).
