SOUTH LAKE TAHOE, Calif. - El Dorado County health officials are reporting nine new cases of COVID-19 since yesterday, five in the Lake Tahoe region, two in Cameron Park/Shingle Springs/Rescue, one in El Dorado Hills, and one in Pollock Pines/Camino/Kyburz. One of the cases was under the age of 18, five aged 18-49, one aged 50-64 and two aged 65 and older.

County officials say the statewide reporting system is experiencing processing delays and figures may be undestated.

Blaze shuts down US395 in both directions near Hallelujah Junction

Evacuations are underway after a three fires broke out north of Hallelujah Junction near US395 Sunday afternoon. The highway is currently closed in both directions from the junction with SR70 to Contantia Road.

SOUTH LAKE TAHOE, Calif. - El Dorado County health officials say there are 24 new confirmed cases of COVID-19 in the county, 15 of those in the Lake Tahoe area. Of these 24, two are under the age of 18, 20 are aged 18-49, one aged 50-64 and one aged 65 and older.

SOUTH LAKE TAHOE, Calif. - El Dorado County health officials today said there have been ten new cases of COVID-19 in the county. STATELINE, Nev. - Nevada’s nonrestricted gaming licensees reported a total “gaming win” of $566,806,791 for the month of June 2020, the first month casinos started to reopen in the state after being closed due to the coronavirus. This amounts to a 45.55 percent decrease compared to June 2019, when licensees reported a gaming win of $1,040,978,076 according to the monthly report released today by the Nevada Gaming Control Board.

SOUTH LAKE TAHOE, Calif. - El Dorado County health officials say there were another 24 confirmed cases of COVID-19 in the county since yesterday. Fifteen of those are in the Lake Tahoe region, four in El Dorado Hills, two both Placerville and Cameron Park/Shingle Springs/Rescue, and one in the North County. Three are under the age of 18, 14 aged 18-49, five aged 50-64 and two 65 and over.

This brings the total number of cases since the pandemic started to 579, 209 of those most likely still active.

SOUTH LAKE TAHOE, Calif. - El Dorado County health officials are reporting 42 new cases of COVID-19 over the last three days, July 25-27. Of the new cases, 16 are in the Lake Tahoe region, 11 are in El Dorado Hills, eight in Cameron Park/Shingle Springs/Rescue, five in Placerville, and one each in the North County and Pollock Pines/Camino/Kyburz regions.

Of the 42 new cases, three are under the age of 18, 27 aged 18-49, nine aged 50-64 and three aged 65 and older. Twenty-two are female, 20 are male.

Fire Weather Watch dropped for area, Red Flag Warning in place Monday

SOUTH LAKE TAHOE, Calif. - The National Weather Service (NWS) in Reno has issued a Red Flag Warning for thunderstorms and strong outflow winds for Monday, July 27 from 5:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m.

The Fire Weather Watch is no longer in effect.

Normally, the Basin averages six Red Flag Warnings per season, and this makes four - and it's still July. Please remember all outdoor sources of open flame are prohibited until the Red Flag Warning declaration expires, and that includes gas/propane fire pits and grills.

SOUTH LAKE TAHOE, Calif. - El Dorado County health officials have announced seven new confirmed cases, six in the Lake Tahoe region and one in El Dorado Hills. The totals only increased by five as two previously identified cases were transferred to other counties today. They were previously counted in the Cameron Park/Shingle Sperings area.

Of the new cases, one is under the age of 18, four are aged 18-49 and two aged 50-64. Six are female, one male.

Park Tahoe paid parking pilot program starts at East Shore Trail

INCLINE VILLAGE, Nev. - When the three parking lots with 90 spaces were created last year in Incline Village for the popular East Shore Trail, they were free but all were told paid parking was coming in the near future.

That time has now come.

Tahoe Transportation District (TTD) has unveiled the Park Tahoe pilot program at the trailhead north of Ponderosa Rand Road. The lots were created to expand off-highway parking options along the high traffic area of SR28 between Incline Village and Sand Harbor State Park.

Compliance to State health mandates urged to keep South Lake Tahoe and El Dorado County open

EL DORADO COUNTY, Calif. - The Board of Supervisors held a meeting on Thursday to discuss the current situation of positive cases of COVID-19 in the county, especially in South Lake Tahoe where numbers are starting to grow.

After almost four hours of discussion, both amongst themselves and during public comment, the Board made the following action items but didn't vote on any county-wide orders:

SOUTH LAKE TAHOE, Calif. - El Dorado County health officials announced six new confirmed cases of COVID-19 on Tuesday, five in the Lake Tahoe region, and one in the Cameron Park/Shingle Springs/Rescue area. Of the new numbers, two are male, four female, four in the 18-48 age group and two in the 50-64 age group.

No new recoveries have been reported, with that number remaining at 122. At this time there are 62 active cases of COVID-19. One positive person remains hospitalized in the ICU with one suspected case in the ICU.

There was a reclassification of a case in Cameron Park/Shingle Springs.

Road closures lifting as firefighters make ground on 3,000 acre Poeville Fire north of Reno

Firefighters continued fire suppression operations Sunday on the Poeville Fire burning on the east side of Peavine Mountain northwest of Reno.

The fire actively burned Saturday night in brush and grass and as of Sunday afternoon was 30 percent contained and has burned 3,000 acres. At least eight structures burned, according to Truckee Meadows Fire.

Most road closures and evacuations have been lifted, according to the Washoe County Sheriff's Office. All roads are back open except for Heindel Road and Meyers Avenue as of 5:00 p.m. Sunday.

Washoe County Marine 9 rescues couple from Lake Tahoe

INCLINE VILLAGE, Nev. - Washoe County deputies on board Marine 9 found a couple clinging to a deflated raft on Lake Tahoe around 3:00 p.m. Thursday, June 18.

Deputies aboard the boat were patrolling just northwest of the Thunderbird Lodge on the east shore when they spotted a number of items, including paddles and shoes, floating on the lake.

COVID-19 case update for Lake Tahoe area counties

SOUTH LAKE TAHOE, Calif. - There were two new cases of COVID-19 in El Dorado County Tuesday, both from the Lake Tahoe region. The one male and one female are both in the 18-49-year-old age group.

An additional 88 people were able to be tested since Monday, bringing the total of tests to 7,257.

There is one patient in the ICU. With no new recoveries, there are now 24 active cases.

There have been 52 cases in the Lake Tahoe area (including South Lake Tahoe, Meyers, Strawberry, and Tahoma).
