Soroptimist Stadium in South Lake Tahoe gets new warning track

They would like to thank all the donors who made it possible.
SISLT members began their softball field renovation project on this field with a $325,000 contribution and have been managing the upgrades in cooperation with the Lake Tahoe Unified School District to provide girls with Title IX-compliant facilities.

SOUTH LAKE TAHOE, Calif. - The Boys and Girls Club of Lake Tahoe (BGCLT) is inviting the kids of the community on Friday, July 28 at 3 p.m. as the Honey Bee Ice Cream truck stops by the club.
BCGLT wants to give all kids the opportunity to enjoy a delicious cold treat!
Instead of collecting at the ice cream truck, donations are being accepted at the front desk or at www.bgclt.org.
The club's goal is to raise $1,000 to cover the cost of the ice cream.
They are located at 1100 Lyons Ave., South Lake Tahoe.

An area that holds many memories for me all the way back to the age of 14. From the snow-covered slopes to watching my grandmother play slot machines through the window of Harrah’s in the ’60s.
Today, that storyline has greatly expanded to include LTCC, Tahoe Magic, Shinning Stars, South Tahoe High, The Longest Table, the League to Save the Lake, community support during the Caldor Fire, and so much more.

Tahoe Douglas Rotary is now accepting golf foursome signups to play in their popular annual Fun-Raiser Charity Cup Golf Tournament on Sunday, September 17 at the Lake Tahoe Golf Course. For decades the Rotary Club became synonymous with St. Patrick's Day fun with its annual silent auction and celebration. While there won’t be free wine and Irish jigs on the golf course (well unless you feel like dancing of course), the Rotarians have pledged to host a memorable day on the links! The Club will cap off the day with a 19th Hole Awards Happy Hour followed by an End of Summer Weenie Roast.

Each eligible senior may receive one booklet. Each booklet has five checks redeemable for $10 each to be used at Certified Farmers’ Markets to buy fresh fruits, vegetables, cut herbs, and raw unprocessed honey. Pretrial, Probation and Parole Supervision Week celebrated in South Lake Tahoe
Submitted by paula on Mon, 07/17/2023 - 10:30pmSOUTH LAKE TAHOE, Calif. - Pretrial, Probation and Parole Supervision (PPPS) Week is July 17-21, and to get the week started off, El Dorado County's Chief Probation Officer Brian Richart cooked a big breakfast for staff on Monday.
Richart's department is 122 strong with staff on both the west and east slopes of the county. Since 2014 Richart has cooked up a big breakfast for staff, and he will repeat what he did in South Lake Tahoe on Monday and again on Thursday on the West Slope.

The event will recognize and remember Maloff's significant and lasting legacy with tours of the building that bears her name, a presentation, a toast, and more.
MasterCraft at Lake Tahoe supported its Surf to Save Lives campaign

This year, celebrities could enjoy their time on the water while also supporting a great cause. The ‘Surf to Save Lives’ campaign was launched in May by MasterCraft to raise funds and awareness for the St. Jude mission.
They had a large display of boats near the 17th tee all week, as well as rides on the lake.

"In the blink of an eye, our lives have been forever shattered as baby Charlie, previously declared brain dead, passed away on July 11, 2023, at 8:05 p.m.," said the baby's aunt.

This year was different though, and it wasn't Guevin checking out the safety of operation as he is newly retired.
His service to the community was recently celebrated at the fire house on Elk Point Road, one that started off with a 911 Emergency Services dispatch announcement over the airwaves announcing Guevin's retirement.

SOUTH LAKE TAHOE, Calif. - The Tahoe Arts Project and Tahoe Valley Performing Arts present Disney and Pixar’s Finding Nemo Jr. at the Tahoe Valley Elementary School's Thunderbird Theater on Saturday, July 8.
The charming 60-minute musical is based on the beloved 2003 Pixar film Finding Nemo. There will be two shows, one at 2 p.m. and the other at 6 p.m.
Tickets will be available at the door - $10 for adults and $5 for children.
The doors will open 30 minutes prior to each show and seating is first come first serve.
Two former Navy shipmates continue reunion tradition at South Lake Tahoe 4th of July Parade

Now, in 2023, the new tradition continues.
The year was 1962, and Orly Larson and David Kramer enlisted in the Navy from their perspective hometowns. Two years later the men met when they were assigned to the USS Belknap DLG26, what was then a brand-new guided-missile destroyer.

Her dad Lucius, general manager of Tahoe Keys Boat Rentals, would share stories with Sadie about the people who die in Lake Tahoe and she wanted to do something about it.

Prepared by the Bread & Broth (B&B) Week #3 cooking crew, the meal was just another example of the culinary skills that the volunteer cooks bring to the meals prepared every Monday for the dinner guests who come to St. Theresa Church’s Grace Hall between 4 and 5:30 p.m. for a free meal.

SOUTH LAKE TAHOE, Calif. - The El Dorado County Food Bank starts its free monthly farmer's markets in South Lake Tahoe on Wednesday, June 28 from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. in the parking lot of St. Theresa Church at 1041 Lyons Avenue, South Lake Tahoe.
The truck will be bringing fresh vegetables, fruit, and other staples each month.
