Lake Tahoe is For Lovers Festival coming to Lake Tahoe Outdoor Arena

LAKE TAHOE, Nev. - The "Is For Lovers Festival" organizer Hawthorne Heights has announced the lineup for the Lake Tahoe stop on its multi-city music experience. They will be at the Lake Tahoe Outdoor Arena at Lake Tahoe on Saturday, June 24 with co-headliners Jimmy Eat World, Taking Back Sunday, Bayside, Anberlin, Hawthorne Heights, Plain White T's, Mom Jeans, Emery, Just Friends, and Bug Bath.

Besides Lake Tahoe, there is a festival in 2023 at Oahu, Hawaii; Denver, Colorado; Manteo, North Carolina; Council Bluffs, Iowa; Cincinnati, Ohio; Pelham, Tennessee; and Mansfield, Massachusetts.

Celebrate Earth Week in Tahoe with Trash-Free Thursday

The continuous snowfall that has allowed many Ski California member resorts to extend their winter season has also prompted the industry association to restart it's Mountain Safety Guide contest with the unveiling of a robust new prize package. Last month, two winners were selected live on the radio to receive unrestricted 2023-24 Ski California Gold Passes (valued at $3,750 each). To qualify, they had to read the Mountain Safety Guide and complete the quiz at the end with 80 percent or better accuracy.

Auditions being held for new Lake Tahoe Community College musical - Seussical

SOUTH LAKE TAHOE, Calif. - Theater is back at Lake Tahoe Community College (LTCC). Auditions are being held on Friday, April 14 from 4 p.m. to 10 p.m. for a new musical, Seussical.

Erik Baker, the college's new theater teacher and part of the winning duo at Dancing With The Tahoe Stars in October. He is now looking for a diversity of actors and actresses, and of a wide range of ages to match the message of the musical.

Marcus Ashley, South Lake Tahoe's purveyor of Dr. Seuss art, is donating artwork for the set.

The show will be running June 9-18.

Local author and historian David Woodruff assumes the character of the dreamer, designer, constructor, and despot of the Los Angeles Aqueduct, William Mulholland. Abhorred in the Eastern Sierra and revered in Southern California, "Bill” brought a river from 233 miles away, so the City of Angels could grow into a great metropolis. It left a rural, agrarian community in ruins.

Two Lake Tahoe trails facing off in Tahoe Fund bracket contest

Two rival trails from opposite sides of the lake are set to square off in the Tahoe Trails Madness Championship this weekend! The Rubicon Trail is taking on the Marlette Flume Trail in the battle to be crowned the best trail Tahoe has to offer.

This dramatic championship pits the West Shore against the East Shore, California against Nevada, and two epic trails against one another. This promises to be a matchup for the ages!

WNC’s third paramedic graduation class praised for dedication, career choice
