Christina Proctor, public relations professional, and Bev Ducey, a resource development expert with an extensive history in grant procurement, will be advancing the mission of the Tahoe Prosperity Center (TPC) in 2013. The TPC Executive Committee contracted with Proctor and Ducey after Mone´ Haen, former chief executive officer, announced her resignation in December. Proctor will be developing TPC materials, presentations and handling the daily administrative tasks of the organization. Ducey will focus on strengthening the TPC’s financial resources through grant development.
"The TPC feels fortunate to bring this complimentary team on board. When you look at the skills sets of Ms. Ducey and Ms. Proctor they are exactly what is needed to move the center's strategic plan forward in 2013," said Thomas Greene, chairman of the TPC board.
Proctor, former director of public information at Lake Tahoe Community College, comes to the TPC with many years of experience in the fields of public and media relations, marketing, communications, and community outreach. Before joining the college team, Proctor was the managing editor of the Tahoe Daily Tribune. Proctor lives in South Lake Tahoe with her husband Chris Proctor, and their two sons.
Ducey, most recently, worked with the Tahoe Fund, supporting its fund raising efforts and developing the group’s financial management systems. She has more than 20 years of professional experience in marketing, communications and project management – 12 of those years as vice president at Charles Schwab & Co. Ducey has a strong commitment to our community. She served as a trustee on the Tahoe Truckee Unified School District board for five years, successfully co-led a parcel tax renewal campaign and wrote four successful educational grants totally more than $1 million. Ducey lives in Squaw Valley, with her husband Claudio Bravo, and their two daughters.
The TPC is a regional collaboration of key private business, government, education, and philanthropic leadership. It was established in 2011 to improve the quality of life for those who live, work and recreate in the Tahoe Basin. Some of its current projects include a broadband infrastructure initiative to help attract new businesses to the Tahoe Basin and working with the Tahoe Transportation District to facilitate Basin-wide discussion on transportation initiatives.
