Lake Tahoe residents still dealing with power outages

Power outages are still plaguing Lake Tahoe area residents and businesses, and Liberty Utility crews have been working nonstop to deal with the issues caused by the blizzard. There are currently approximately 20,000 customers without power in El Dorado, Placer and Nevada counties.

"All Liberty Utilities and NV Energy crews have worked together through the night," said Liberty Utilities spokesperson Kathy Carter. "Because of the numerous large trees that have fallen through lines and wires down, it is causing the restoration process to be very slow working one community at a time."

Lineman are currently out in the field addressing a new South Lake Tahoe outage issue according to Carter.

Liberty Utilities North and South Lake Tahoe walk-in center and customer service phone lines will be closed Wednesday due to the server weather conditions.

Do not attempt to remove lines on the ground. Call 911 if you believe downed lines pose an immediate risk or if you have an emergency situation. We will continue to provide updates via their website at www.libertyutilities.com as our dispatchers updating the website will have more information than our Emergency Call Center Agents.
