South Lake Tahoe COVID-19 cases remain at 9; Washoe County sees two more deaths

SOUTH LAKE TAHOE, Calif. - The has been one more El Dorado County resident to test positive for COVID-19, bringing the total cases in the county to 30.

El Dorado Hills - 11
East Slopt (Including South Lake Tahoe, Meyers) - 9

Placeville - 5
Cameron Park, Shingle Springs, Rescue - 3
North County - 2

To date, approximately 1,070 tests have been given with 1,040 of those negative or pending.

Washoe County

Washoe County had two more residents die from COVID-19 today:

A female in her 60s who had underlying health conditions
A male in his 50s who had an underlying health condition

The total number of COVID-19-related deaths in Washoe County is 10.

Quad Counties (Carson City, Douglas, Storey, Lyon)

Quad-County Emergency Operations Center is reporting the total number of cases in the area to 27, with 9 recoveries, 18 cases remain active. They reported two new cases on April 8 at 6:00 p.m.

Alpine County

Two reported cases of COVID-19 last week. No new cases reported.

Placer County

There are now 119 COVID-19 cases in the communities of Placer County including Alta, Applegate, Auburn, Carnelian Bay, Elverta, Foresthill, Granite Bay, Kings Beach, Lincoln, Loomis, Meadow Vista, Newcastle, Olympic Valley, Penryn, Rocklin, Roseville, Sheridan, Tahoe City, and Truckee.

16 positive cases are hospitalized with 21 suspected cases hospitalized. Confirmed cases in the ICU are 9 with 4 suspected cases in the ICU.

To date, four county residents have died from the virus.
