Three new cases of COVID-19 reported in El Dorado County; One in Douglas, 48 in Washoe

SOUTH LAKE TAHOE, Calif. - Since yesterday, the El Dorado County Public Health Department has reported three new confirmed cases of COVID-19, bringing the county told to 47.

Health officials say just one of those cases in actually new, and the other two were listed in the Sacramento County figures. Their identification showed a P.O. Box in Sacramento, but they actually live in El Dorado Hills. Both have since recovered.

The three additions to the 47 confirmed cases are one male, two females, and one is from the Lake Tahoe region of the county. Two are in the 50-64-year-old group and the other is in the 18-49 group.

Another 100 tests were administered, bringing that total to 2,240.

There have been three recoveries, bringing that total to 43, leaving four active cases.

Sixteen in the Lake Tahoe region of the county have tested positive. This region includes South Lake Tahoe, Meyers, Kyburz, and Tahoma.

Washoe County

The Regional Information Center is reporting two additional COVID-19-related deaths in Washoe County.

The deceased are a woman in her 60s and it’s being investigated whether there were underlying health conditions, and a female in her 40s with underlying health conditions. There have been 32 COVID-19-related deaths in Washoe County.

Further, there were 48 additional COVID-19 cases reported for a total of 546 active cases. That is the highest one-day jump in positive cases for Washoe County and the most active cases at any point. There were 11 additional recoveries.

The county breaks down cases by zip code, and Incline Village, with a population of 8,800, has 19 cases, or 2.2 per 1,000 people, and Crystal Bay has one. Both of these areas remained the same Thursday. Southeast Reno's 46,907 residents have 147 cases or 3.1 cases per 1,000.

Quad-Counties - Carson City, Douglas, Storey, Lyon

Quad-County Emergency Operations Center (Quad EOC) is reporting four new positive cases and four additional recoveries of COVID-19 in the Quad-County region. This brings the total number of cases to 96, with 50 recoveries and one death, 45 cases remain active.

The new cases are:
• A male Carson City resident in his 60’s
• A female Carson City resident in her 20’s
• A male Douglas County resident in his 20’s
• A female Lyon County resident in her 20’s

Carson City Health and Human Services is working to identify close risk contacts to prevent further spread of the disease. Due to medical privacy requirements and to protect their identity, no further information about the cases will be released.

There have only been updates to the county's testing figures. The two positive case numbers have not risen in a few weeks.
