COVID-19 case update for Lake Tahoe area counties

SOUTH LAKE TAHOE, Calif. - El Dorado County health officials have announced 14 new confirmed cases of COVID-19 in the county, five in the Lake Tahoe region, three in Greater Placerville, three in El Dorado Hills, one in the Pollock Pines/Camino and Kyburz area, one in the Diamond Springs/El Dorado area and one in the Cameron Park/Shingle Springs/Rescue area. Of the new cases, nine are males, five are females, 13 in the 18-49 age group, and one in the 50-64-year-old group.

There have been an additional three recoveries, leaving 73 active cases.

An additional 137 tests were administered.

Two more have been hospitalized with COVID-19, so there are three hospitalized with one in the ICU. There is currently one person in the ICU with suspected coronavirus.

All of the new cases are community-acquired cases (not travel-related or from close contact with a known positive case), but further investigation is ongoing.

County-wide there have been 198 cases with 98 of those in the Lake Tahoe area (including South Lake Tahoe, Meyers, Strawberry, and Tahoma).

Quad-Counties - Carson City, Douglas, Storey, Lyon

Carson City Health and Human Services (CCHHS) is reporting eight new positive cases and twelve additional recoveries of COVID-19 in the Quad-County region. This brings the total number of cases to 354, with 255 recoveries and seven deaths, 92 cases remain active.

The new cases are:
• A male Carson City resident in his 50’s with a connection to a previously reported case.
• A female Carson City resident in her 50’s with a connection to a previously reported case.
• A male Lyon County resident in his 30’s with a connection to a previously reported case.
• A female Carson City resident in her 20’s with a connection to a previously reported case.
• A male Carson City resident in his 20’s with a connection to a previously reported case.
• A male Carson City resident in his 40’s with no connection to a previously reported case.
• A male Douglas County resident in his 60’s with a connection to a previously reported case.
• A female Carson City resident in her 40’s with no connection to a previously reported case.

Carson City Health and Human Services is working to identify close risk contacts to prevent further spread of the disease. Due to medical privacy requirements and to protect their identity, no further information about the cases will be released.

The Regional Information Center is reporting 38 new COVID-19 cases in Washoe County since Tuesday.

32 (+0) of the confirmed cases to date are in Incline Village with 6 (+0) active ones, and one recovered case in Crystal Bay.

Placer County

There have been 40 new cases of confirmed COVID-19 in Placer County since Tuesday, with two new cases in the Lake Tahoe area.
