COVID-19 case update for Lake Tahoe area counties

SOUTH LAKE TAHOE, Calif. - The Lake Tahoe region of El Dorado County passed the century mark Thursday with three new cases of COVID-19. Health officials report eight new confirmed cases with two in El Dorado Hills, one in the Diamond Springs/El Dorado area, one in Cameron Park/Shingle Springs/Rescue area, and one person's regional address is unknown at this time.

Of the new cases, six are male, two female, one is under the age of 18, six in the 18-49 age group and one in the 50-64-year-old group.

251 new tests for the coronavirus were conducted.

Three more people have recovered, putting the active case count at 78.

There are two new hospitalizations and three new in the ICU for a total of five hospitalized, four of which are in the ICU. There is one more person in the ICU with a suspected case of COVID-19.

County-wide there have been 206 cases with 101 of those in the Lake Tahoe area (including South Lake Tahoe, Meyers, Strawberry, and Tahoma).

Quad-Counties - Carson City, Douglas, Storey, Lyon

Carson City Health and Human Services (CCHHS) is reporting seven new positive cases and three additional recoveries of COVID-19 in the Quad-County region. This brings the total number of cases to 361, with 258 recoveries and seven deaths, 96 cases remain active.

The new cases are:
• A male Lyon County resident under the age of 18 with no connection to a previously reported case.
• A male Carson City resident in his 30’s with no connection to a previously reported case.
• A male Carson City resident in his 40’s with no connection to a previously reported case.
• A male Carson City resident in his 40’s with no connection to a previously reported case.
• A female Lyon County resident in her 30’s with a connection to a previously reported case.
• A female Carson City resident in her 20’s with no connection to a previously reported case.
• A female Carson City resident in her 60’s with no connection to a previously reported case.

Carson City Health and Human Services is working to identify close risk contacts to prevent further spread of the disease. Due to medical privacy requirements and to protect their identity, no further information about the cases will be released.

Fourth of July Holiday Celebrations

With the Fourth of July holiday weekend approaching, CCHHS wants to remind everyone to continue following preventative actions such as keeping 6 feet of space between you and others, wearing a face covering, washing your hands often with soap and water for 20 seconds, staying home in you are sick, and avoiding large group gatherings to slow the spread of COVID-19. If you are planning to host a small group gathering to celebrate the holiday, host it outdoors if possible. Remind guests to stay home if they are sick and keep a list of attendees in case it is needed for contact tracing purposes in the future. Washoe County

The Regional Information Center is reporting 119 new COVID-19 cases in Washoe County since Wednesday.

Active cases: 1,019 (+46)
Currently hospitalized: 85 (+3)
Cases who have discharged from hospital: 227 (+1)

32 (+0) of the confirmed cases to date are in Incline Village with 5 (-1) active ones, and one recovered case in Crystal Bay.

Placer County

There have been 30 new cases of confirmed COVID-19 in Placer County since Wednesday, with five of those new cases in the Lake Tahoe area.
