COVID-19 case update for Lake Tahoe area counties

SOUTH LAKE TAHOE, Calif. - El Dorado County health officials have announced an additional 49 cases of COVID-19 for county residents since Friday. Twenty-one of those are in El Dorado Hills, twelve in the Lake Tahoe area, seven in Placerville, four in Cameron Park/Shingle Springs/Rescue, three in Pollock Pines/Camino/Kyburz, and two in Diamond Springs/El Dorado.

Of the new cases, six are under the age of 18, 30 are aged 18-49, eight aged 50-64 and five aged 65 and older, 23 are male and 26 are female.

635 new tests were administered.

There has been one additional hospitalisation in the ICU, with three patients now in the ICU and one other hospitalized. There is currently one patient in the ICU with a suspected case of COVID-19.

There are currently 200 active cases and an estimated 23 new recovered.

On Saturday, the county announced the first death of a resident from COVID-19, a man from South Lake Tahoe.

At this time, the tracing investigations on the large number of new cases in El Dorado Hills and the county have not been concluded, but if following the trend county-wide, they are community acquired and not from a known case.

County-wide there have been 443 cases with 210 of those in the Lake Tahoe area (including South Lake Tahoe, Meyers, Strawberry, and Tahoma).

Quad-Counties - Carson City, Douglas, Storey, Lyon

Carson City Health and Human Services (CCHHS) is reporting 23 new positive cases and 31 additional recoveries of COVID-19 in the Quad-County region since Friday. This brings the total number of cases to 525, with 379 recoveries and eight deaths, 138 cases remain active.

The new cases Monday are:
• A female Carson City resident in her 50’s with no connection to a previously reported case.
• A female Carson City resident in her 40’s with a connection to a previously reported case.
• A male Douglas County resident in his 50’s with no connection to a previously reported case.
• A female Carson City resident in her 50’s with no connection to a previously reported case.
• A female Lyon County resident in her 30’s with no connection to a previously reported case.
• A male Carson City resident in his 70’s with a connection to a previously reported case.
• A female Carson City resident under the age of 18 with no connection to a previously reported case.
• A male Carson City resident in his 70’s with no connection to a previously reported case.
• A male Carson City resident in his 20’s with no connection to a previously reported case.
• A male Douglas County resident in his 50’s with no connection a previously reported case.
• A female Carson City resident in her 30’s with no connection to a previously reported case.
• A male Carson City resident in his 30’s with no connection to a previously reported case.
Carson City Health and Human Services is working to identify close risk contacts to prevent further spread of the disease. Due to medical privacy requirements and to protect their identity, no further information about the cases will be released.

Washoe County

The Regional Information Center is reporting 222 new COVID-19 cases and one new death in Washoe County since Friday.

57 (+2) of the confirmed cases to date are in Incline Village with 15 (+0) active ones, and one recovered case in Crystal Bay.

Placer County

There have been 168 new cases of confirmed COVID-19 in Placer County since Friday, with two of those new cases in the Lake Tahoe area.

Their seven-day test rate is 6 percent positive, and 14-day case rate is 123.5 per 100,000.
