It may still be August on the calendar, but plans are already being made for local philanthropist Lisa Maloff to play Mrs. Santa again this December, the event that earned her the name "Angel of Tahoe" in 2017.
Mrs. Maloff recently provided Tahoe Youth & Family Services with a generous check in the amount $75,000 to help the non-profit agency and local youth celebrate the 2018 Christmas season. She will be celebrating the holidays by passing out gifts to help local youth celebrate Christmas.
Each gift was handed out last year with a warm Maloff hug during a party at Lake Tahoe Community College. Volunteer elves decorated and wrapped the gifts. Lisa’s generosity to the children in our community is extremely important to her and one she cherishes.
“Lisa is leaving a wonderful caring legacy for the youth in South Lake Tahoe,” said Karen Carey, Executive Director of Tahoe Youth & Family Services. "She is truly the Angel of Tahoe."
