From the City of South Lake Tahoe: What to know for President Obama's visit

Nevada Senator Harry Reid is hosting the 20th Annual Lake Tahoe Summit with Special Keynote Speaker President Obama on Wednesday, August 31 at Harvey’s Outdoor Arena at Stateline.
Gates will open at Harvey’s Outdoor Arena at 11:30 a.m. and attendees are encouraged to arrive by 11:30 a.m. for the 1:30 p.m. event due to expected long lines and security check points.
Doors will close prior to 1:30 p.m. and no late entry will be allowed.
Attendees will be permitted to bring their cell phones to the event but cameras with large lenses will not be allowed.
Other items prohibited are:
No large bags
No backpacks
No outside food or beverage
No umbrellas
For security purposes, the President’s travel route will not be released, however, law enforcement works at minimizing the duration of closures and there will be rolling road closures and delays are not expected to exceed 30 minutes. Traffic could be affected anytime between 12 noon and 4 p.m.
The Lake Tahoe airport and businesses inside, including the City of SLT,will be closed until 3:00 p.m.
Per Senator Reid’s office, shuttle service will not be provided for this year’s Summit.
