Kudos: Bread & Broth thanks Hope Luthern Church

“It was a great experience!” exclaimed Peter Friederici as he described his volunteering stint on behalf of Hope Lutheran Church of the Sierra’s Adopt A Day sponsorship meal on September 9. Fellow church members Connie Friederici, Robert Guebard, Patti Green and Diane Martin all happily joined Peter in giving their personal time to represent Hope Lutheran and serve a nutritious dinner to their fellow neighbors.

Hope Lutheran and its members are a warm and welcoming house of worship for many members of the Lake Tahoe South Shore community. Their mission statement describes itself as "a church of the warm heart." By sponsoring a Bread & Broth dinner, the church is living its credo of treating others with kindness and compassion. The simple act of providing a communal meal, that is not only enjoyed but, in many cases, truly needed, is a very Christian and selfless gift to others.

The Hope Lutheran sponsor crew helped the B&B volunteers serve Shepard’s pie dinner with lovely fruit and tomato/cucumber salads in addition to packing “giveaway” food bags filled with fruits, veggies, dairy products, and bakery goods. It was a busy dinner service but thanks to the sponsor volunteers the meal was served on time and everyone enjoyed the dinner.

B&B thanks Hope Lutheran Church of the Sierra for helping bring food and fellowship to the hungry in our community. -
