SOUTH LAKE TAHOE, Calif. - The Lake Tahoe Community College (LTCC) Women's Soccer Team has dominated throughout their 2018 season and the playoffs have been no different. On Friday afternoon they shut out San Bernardino Valley College (SBCV) by a score of 2-0 in the semifinal round of the Northern California Regionals of the California Community College Athletic Association (CCCAA) in Ventura.
LTCC, who was 21-0-4 overall and 10-0 in league play during their regular season, entered Friday's halftime tied up 0-0 with SBVC. It was a tough battle until LTCC scored twice in the second half. The first was by Angelica Hurtado with an assist by Annie Brejc 76:13 into the game. The final goal came at 89:42 when Samantha Frates scored unassisted with a rebound off the goal post.
The Coyotes have shutout their opponents since the first round of playoffs on November 17.
The opponent for LTCC in Sunday's championship round has not been decided. As of 7:30 p.m., Santiago Canyon was leading San Joaquin Delta 1+0 in the first half. The winner of that matchup will play LTCC on Sunday, December 2 at 2:00 p.m. in Ventura.
